Hot Topics: Audio Flashcards for Passing the Pmp and Capm Exams

Let me say that I like the flashcards in general. However, I made a mistake and did not realize that I was ordering flash cards OR an audio CD. (The description does say it is either cards or cd). The Exam Prep book I bought contained both, so I overlooked this in the description.My 4-star rating does not relate to my mistake. I have just started my CAPM study and the flash cards are not a good material at this phase. I expect they will be a good study material when I am ready to review. I also do not feel that the paper quality of this product is good. I would hope to use this tool again and again, but I'm not sure it will hold up when I carry it around in a purse or laptop bag.I don't feel that this quality of the product was worth the amount of money I paid for it. I DO feel that the content is valuable.I prefer to make my own flash cards when I study, so just be more careful than I was. Now I would be interested to know if anyone has used the Audio Cd and whether it is worth the cost?

After attending an in-person PMP boot camp, I listened to these CDs on the way to & from work (1 hr each way) for about a month prior to taking the PMP exam. Some of the sections seemed long, and I wanted to break them up a bit more so I could quickly go back a few minutes to review information that needed more attention. I ended up downloading the CD to my computer, breaking some of the tracks up so that they were about 2 minutes in length. This worked MUCH better.As far as being useful for the exam, the CDs do cover nearly everything that was tested on from the book. HOWEVER, you will also get many situational questions on the exam - something no book and no CD can prepare you for. You have to be able to take what you've learned and apply it in a "This has happened, as the PM what do you do?" type of situation.

Rita's flashcards don't skimp - 704 pages (352 cards). They are organized like Rita's book; by knowledge area. They are compact enough to carry around and review during meals, downtime or while traveling. Just put a rubber band over the flashcards to keep them together. I even took these on vacation. You can brush up in as little or much time as you'd like. I used cut up sticky notes to mark the cards I was unsure of and then would review those topics in Rita's book. I knew I was ready to sit for the exam after I thinned out the sticky notes. The flashcards really allowed me to sneak in study time when finding time was sometimes a struggle. Although not included in the flashcards, I would highly recommend playing the process game in Rita's book. It's well worth cutting out the squares in Chapter 3 and practicing; especially the order of the planning process group.

Great study guide, but still seems like some of the important PMBOK stuff is missing here. I am making my own flash cards and I am only 2/3rds the way through and I already have more cards than what is in this. It seems like the print could have been much bigger too. The print is strangely small on the pages with a LOT of white space and it's not really like they are cards, but glossy printer paper (non card stock). Looks like they were doing as much as possible to minimize printing costs. I hope they rectify these things with the new PMBOK/certification test once released.

I have always learned best by using flash cards so I found this very useful. I ended up tearing the cards from the spiral binding and cutting the loose ends so I could use them as actual flash cards. That also enabled me to separate the cards I knew very easily from the more challenging ones. Some people complain that the paper is thin compared to actual flashcards, which is why I gave it 4 stars. But I guess its better than costing more $$$.

I give the product 5 STARS, but DO NOT BUY FOR THIS PRICE.This CD can be bought from the vendor for less than $40.00. I made this purchase mistakenly thinking it was the audio book, NOT just the hot topics, once I opened it and listened to it, I was stuck with it. I paid $250+ dollars for this product when I could have spent $40.00 at Rita Mulcahy's website (again I thought I was buying the book on audio).If you want a great resource for studying while in the car this is a great product. Do not spend more than $40.00 dollars for it at Rita Mulcahys website (or any other vendor you can find it at for under 40.00).

I passed the exam the first time with using Rita's products and this was one of them. I recommend reading her book first and then use these to help see how much you know the material. The only reason I didn't rate all 5 stars is I wish these were multiple choice questions, otherwise still a great product and helped me pass the exam.

It further reinforced most of the areas I had studied in her Study Guide. Very helpful, I used it in the week before the exam. The only negative I'd say is that topics are arranged chronologically by her chapters in the guide, it would be better if it was random, thus the 4 stars.

I already had the full PMP Exam Prep book by Rita and heard these are a good aid to help you quickly recall key facts. This compact booklet was really helpful to study on my train journey to work and even over a short coffee break... Highly recommended
