After looking at so many knife sets, we finally landed on this one, and we’re so glad we did! The value for the price is incredible—it feels and looks much more expensive than it is. The grip is comfortable, and the knives have stayed sharp thanks to the built-in sharpeners. Update (2025): After four years of use, the tip on the paring knife is the only part that’s worn down, and the handles are starting to show some wear, but it actually adds character and speaks to the quality of the set. These knives are still performing great, and I have no regrets about this purchase!

We got a set as a gift for Christmas and they are so amazing we bought them as a bridal shower gift for my brother in law and sister in law and they love them as well. Great quality, built in sharpeners, nice grip.

This is a beautiful set of knives. I love the block and the knives, but I have noticed the boning knives are starting to peel, a white film is coming off. Again, I absolutely love the set, but for the price, I didn't expect it to do that.

I was surprised at the number of negative reviews of these knives. After receiving them I'm a little less surprised. I know I'm spoiled by my Shun knives, but Shun are crazy expensive, and because they are so hard they tend to chip. These knives feel kind of ponderous in my hand in comparison. However, this set is forged and not stamped, is made of super durable steel, and the sharpeners in the block mean I'm not constantly using a steel on them. From the reviews I've seen, I feel like people expect these knives to be works of art that are also professional quality food prep tools. You can certainly find those if you're willing to pay $1500 for a set like this. For under $200 these are a bargain. If the handles chip I'll do a warranty return. If the blades rust, warranty. I don't really understand how people are complaining about defects with a knife that is still under warranty. At this point, I'm pretty happy.

Very disappointed with the brand and their customer support! I purchased the Graphite 14-pc Self-Sharpening Knife Set three months ago. The knives began to rust after first month of purchase. Called customer support and they want me to try to take the rust off with cleaning solution instead of replacing them. I believed the Henckel brand was the best, but apparently they are not worth the price you pay for them. Also, it seems you need to try to remove the rust before they can be replaced. My question is, if they are getting rusted now, won't they continue to rust even after you clean them????

Good gift item. Made well. Looks great. Easy to hold. Easy to tell where each knife goes for proper sharpening. EDIT: We have been using these since we purchased them. We like them a lot! Be careful! If you want sharp, these are sharp! I cut a towel drying one and the hubby has cut his finger twice so far. Lol! I do not put them in the dishwasher but I think it said you could?? Good purchase.

Just got them and they look great. Packaging was good. Each knife is protected with a top guard, a cardboard sheath, and then individually wrapped in plastic. All come together in one box. Every piece came out of the box in perfect shape. The block is very attractive. All knives fit in their slots. Yes, some fit loosely, but that’s because you don’t want a lot of pressure against the honing devices that sharpen the blades. Many of the complaints I read about are really a non-issue. The paperwork makes it clear that hand washing and immediately drying each knife is the best way to maintain the equipment. I’m excited to use my second set of JAHenckel knives. The first set lasted 13 years. I anticipate this set lasting even longer now that they have assistance maintaining a well-sharpened blade. You cannot go wrong with this set.

Nice quality knives for the price

Unfortunately, would not buy again. The blades seems to get dull quickly and they stain/spot when washed in dishwasher (when my other knives in same wash cycle don’t, let’s be clear). I find myself needing to scrub them to remove those stains or simply wash them by hand. Wife isn’t satisfied either with their “continued sharpness”. 2 main qualities we should have. I cannot recommend.
