Awesome Product!!!
What a great multi talented device. I want to start by saying that I am an IT pro and have installed and configured many storage devices. At home I was using a 2TB My Book Live that had outgrown its capacity. The idea in purchasing this device was to 1. get more storage and 2. Take some of the burden off my PC that had been doubling as a media server. I paired this with 2 4TB WD Red NAS 3.5" drives. Initial setup was a breeze just pop the trays and insert the drives. The trays are not toolless you will need a phillips screw driver. Once that was done I inserted the drives and connected the ethernet and the power. It got a DHCP address right away and the installation of the NAS software from the disk took less than 5 minutes. After it was up and running I downloaded the iTunes server and plex server to the NAS and copied my data from the old NAS. (I used beyond compare which is free for 30 days which compares both folders and syncs the data much more quickly than copy paste and gives you file by file error logs but doesn't stop the copy if something fails.) Both the iTunes and Plex server run better than on my PC. I can say this is a great product and considering a similar device, with a dual core processor was 100+ more than this I think its a steal. For under $500 with the drives this can' t be beat. Well done.

Sweet little NAS
This is a NICE little NAS. It does a lot of neat things when you use some of the optional software apps from the App Center. Things like: ownCloud (personal and PRIVATE Cloud Storage, with a capacity you select.)Plex Media Server (Can't transcode even a 720p video, the NAS just hasn't got the horsepower, but converting videos to MP4 AAC audio and it's a champ.)VPN Server (Have your data with you all the time!)You can hang USB 3.0 or 2.00 devices on this fairly easily. (I have 2 external USB drives and a Raid 5 5-bay USB enclosure on mine. works darned well.)Supports video cameras for a security system, with 4 licenses included with the device. Can expand to 12 cameras with purchase of the other 8 licenses. The only real issue so far has been the latest update to the ADM software (the interface into the NAS.) It's buggy and has issues with a number of things. Support is reasonably good, but it can take a bit. Since all the tech team is located in Asia, getting TeamViewer support so techs can see the problems can be problematic. I got requests at 11:30pm Alaska time

Home NAS for Plex users.
Just what is needed for Plex. Runs the Plex software without issues, which allow me to watch rips of my own DVDs. Be careful though, as the file format must be correct otherwise it will cause problems when trying to play back. I now use this NAS to store all of my network content - photos, videos, music etc and using a wireless router, this means I can access it all from any device at home. Yes, this can also be done from a desktop PC, however as this device uses much less power, I use it more and don't feel as guilty about leaving it on. Power scheduling on the device also means I can switch it off whilst at work, so it's not wasting power.
