Can the lithium battery be swapped out for a spare, if so, where do I buy one? Live in a hurricane zone, can lose power for a week or so.
I bought this last year, and now it will only work when plugged in. What can I do to get it to work? I loved it so much for baseball games.
The geek-aire ipx4 16 “ outdoor floor fan. can it be used indoors?
what type battery does it take

Did not hold a charge after 1 summer.

I bought this back in 2021 for a heatwave while camping in Montana. It worked wonderfully that summer. I packed it away for winter and when I unpacked it, it did not hold a charge. I spent $160 in 2021 so this was super disappointing. I see there is a 2025 model and I would be curious to know how its different.

Same 16'' Model, Big Difference: 2025 Feels Weaker

The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 2025 version of the 16" fan expecting an improvement over the model I previously owned in 2020. Although I no longer have that older unit to make a direct comparison, I clearly remember the airflow being much stronger and more refreshing. When I turned on the 2025 model for the first time, I immediately noticed the airflow felt weaker. To be sure it wasn’t just my perception, I ordered the same 16" model again—this time, the version that’s labeled simply as “16” without the “2025.” That one arrived yesterday, and the difference in power between the two is very noticeable. Ironically, the version without the “2025” label cost me more, which is quite disappointing considering they are supposed to be the same model.I’m not sure if the 2025 version is simply less powerful by design or if the unit I received is defective. Either way, the reduced performance is a letdown—especially after spending extra money to compare the two.As a small upside, I did notice that the 2025 version runs for about 6 hours on maximum speed, compared to around 3 hours from the older model. However, this increased runtime seems to come at the cost of airflow power, which to me is a poor tradeoff. To support this review, I’ve attached video proof showing the fan performance of both models. I hope this helps others make a more informed decision.

I LOVED this fan until it refused to recharge after less than 2 years' use

UPDATE: Someone from Teek Tech finally called me but I missed the call (DRAT!). She left a message saying if I still had a problem to email them. Well, I don't have a problem anymore, because I put the fan in the trash this morning. Buy at your own risk.___________________________________________________________________________I've bought three of these fans in the last few years. Two were gifts, one was for me. I bought mine in Nov 2020 (it's now Sept 2022). I LOVED LOVED LOVED it... until it stopped recharging last week. While it worked, it was the best thing in the world. Light as a feather, quiet, held a charge forever. One time the back seat of my car got wet when I left a window open in the rain. I stood the fan in the back door of the car to dry the seat, and it ran on medium speed for EIGHT HOURS. I left the fan outside in the winter for months, including in the snow, and when I turned it on the spring, it was still almost fully charged. When I did run down the battery, it would fully charge in just over an hour. I bragged on the fan to everyone, and bought two for gifts. My friend did some remodeling work in her bathroom and ran the fan to keep the fumes at bay. Then last week, it was done. Toast. Kaput. Dead in the water. It would not recharge. At all.I knew I was past time to return or exchange it, but I couldn't believe it was dead in less than two years. That's not much of a shelf life.Part II of the saga: I set about trying to call Geek Aire customer service. The first dozen or so times I tried, I kept getting "All our representatives are helping," etc., so finally I left a message. Of course, I got no callback. This morning I did get past the recording and got through, but got someone who didn't seem to know what was going on. As if a random stranger had answered the phone. When I started to tell my story, they hung up on me. I called back five times, but each time, the phone was answered and then immediately disconnected. So I filled out a contact form on the website and also sent an email. That was a couple of hours ago.I just want to know if this fan is REALLY dead. After only two years of meticulous charging/running on my part? How can that be? Before I put it in the trash, I need to know that there is no hope. If it IS dead, will I buy yet another one? I don't know. For those 22 months, it was really great. One of the things I liked to do with it was keep my cat cool when she would sleep in the canvas doggie hut in the back yard. [See picture.] The hut also came from amazon. Black cat is wearing colorful BirdsBeSafe collar.Sometimes the vendors read these reviews. I hope the Geek Air people see this one and will let me know if my fan is really dead with no sure and certain hope of resurrection.

This fan is a lifesaver

I meant to write a review earlier but the good news about waiting is you get to hear what several months of use is like compared to if I just received the item and quickly wrote about it. 2020 has been a heck of a year..I bought this in the beginning of summer. I have purchased many battery powered fans over the year and have always been disappointed, even by the best one. Finally the battery power (this fan being my first rechargeable fan) and fan speed/efficiency that I have been looking for is here. I bought the 16" large version (without hose hookup) because I didn't want to risk a smaller version leaving me wanting more power, however, I convinced my parents to buy the 12" version with the hose hookup so I know what the smaller size can handle. I am glad I got the bigger fan but the smaller fan (albeit less power) gives my parents what they were looking for, especially with the hose vapor hookup.I go camping and I also like to lounge in my backyard on hot days so I bought a fan that would be portable. I was instantly attracted to the quiet sound this fan made while being able to be legitimately powerful. It might not give you the highest power I've ever seen from an electric fan that is large and in charge but for a wireless fan, this did what I hoped for. I love the speed control knob that let's me fine tune how much power I want to give. The more power, the less battery time you get (higher power range will give you only 2-3 hours, medium power can last a full night). But when you use it on a lower power it is still a good output and the battery will last a full day (maybe 16-20 hours or so). That said, a lot depends on the placement of the fan. On a really hot day, you may need to put the fan a lot closer to you for the effect. But if you have the ability to put the fan really close to you then even the lower power levels will be effective on very hot days.I also started using the fan while working from my house during the pandemic. My work area would get hot regularly and the fan on low chilled me plenty and was nice and quiet with very little vibration. I use it plugged in a lot as well. Then, it happened. There was a terrible storm and the power went out on a hot week for 7 days. Luckily I was prepared with this fan. It was so hot and I was so uncomfortable but this fan made it possible to sleep in my bedroom (I used another fan plugged into a generator). The fan was small enough to fit on my tv table by the bed so this fan blowing on us did a lot more than the larger fan on the ground that was plugged in. I even borrowed my parents smaller fan since their power did not fail them and so I had alternating rechargeable fans going from this company. Another thing that comes in handy is how quickly it charges from 0% to 100%...maybe a couple of hours.I'm a big.....fan.....of this product. :)
