Lap Desk with Memory Foam Cushion and USB Light, Fits Laptops Up to 15", Portable Workstation for Home Office with Wrist Rest, Handle, and Detachable Light - Black, Walnut

First off the lapdesk exceeds all of our expectations! It is stylish, sleek and looks and feels high quality. I'm going to try to answer all the questions from above that I can in my review (except we don't have a laptop so can't help with those questions).The lapdesk is not heavy - which is really amazing when you think about how big it is and everything it has (discreetly holds 4 AA batteries, and the usb light plus all the hidden internals to make the light run off the batteries).It is 19" wide15.5" deepAnd about 3.5 to 4" or so high at tallest partMaybe 1.5 to 2" or so high at the shortest partUsable space above the wrist support measures 19" by 12"The USB light is roughly about 15" long from top of light to bottom of usb plug.We have the black and brown version (brown desk part, black memory foam wrist pad and black memory foam cushion)The lapdesk has a hidden zipper on the right side, where the 4 AA batteries go. Batteries are NOT included (If you are on a budget you can get a package of 6-8 AA batteries from dollar tree for $1. Or if you want you can pick up some rechargeable ones, we had some rechargeable batteries at home already)The front of the lapdesk has a velcro flap that opens and reveals a long thin pocket that is just big enough across to fit the thin usb light (maybe an inch wide? But about 16 or so inches long across the front edge) The usb light is safely tucked away and hidden when not in use (also it is shipped that way to you with a flag telling you the light is inside) and the flap securely closes, so no need to worry about it falling out and getting lost. Also centered along this front edge of the memory foam is a nice soft handle that has Sofia + Sam embroidered on it.Besides those two separate small compartments there is no storage in the lapdesk (which my wife says she likes cause she wouldn't want to give up how comfortable it is in exchange for storage that would end up just making it heavier).The top right hand corner of the top of the lapdesk has the little on and off switch, and a recessed usb plug for the light to go into, but does not interfere in the use of the lapdesk when the light is not being used. The workspace is huge, my wife can have a large Johanna Basford coloring book (like secret garden or enchanted forest) or by Kerby Rosanes (like mythomorphia or imagimorphia) coloring book fully open with the usb light in use and still have some room to spare! Likewide, our kids can fit one of their textbooks at an angle and still write in a spiral notebook.The usb light itself is good. It is not so bright as to bother another person in the room or to bother someone in the seat next to you on a plane, or your spouse or children sleeping next to you. But bright enough to easily read or write using only the usb light (for coloring or artwork my wife would recommend having another light on in the room in addition to the usb light on your work). A replacement usb light can be purchased by itself straight from Sofia + Sam (if you ever need a replacement one).The top of the lapdesk is sturdy and has a smooth finish to it, when you knock on it, it sounds like some type of wood - not a plastic material, but whatever it is, it is lamenated with a shiny and smooth appearence and feel. That is great for writing and drawing, but be careful with a plate of food (try not to move around much under it cause one sudden move and the plate could go sliding off the side, lol - My pregnant wife learned that one the hard way).There is also a padded wrist support along the curved side of the lapdesk. It is not removable, that question was asked alot! It is also made of the same memory foam material, but is slimmer in profile. It is the perfect height for my wife to use when she is coloring or drawing or just writing (we don't have a laptop so I can't speak to the height of the wrist support when using a laptop, sorry).The bottom of the lapdesk is an angled wedge of memory foam that is so soft and padded that my wife says it kind of makes her books and things feel lighter on her lap then they actually are, because the memory foam is SO comfortable. This is a million times better then those lapdesks with the bean bag type bottom - my wife and I both agree on that hands down.My wife wanted something lightweight and comfortable. And she was so excited when I got this for her. It has traveled with us on a plane and in the car, gone to dr offices, been used in bed on the couch, on the floor, at the kitchen and dining room table, at a desk, and in a hospital room - just about everywhere!Sofia + Sam customer service is amazing - quick response time, very friendly and just fast amazing service overall, they really are the best! Ah, the good life. As I type this I am nestled cozily under the covers of my bed with my surface pro 3 sitting on my brand new sofia and sam's deluxe memory foam lap desk. No longer am I shackled to my desktop. This is a great laptop desk. Sofia and Sam seemed to have thought about just about everything when they designed this slacker's table...Comfort..... definitely 5 out of 5 stars. This rests easily on my legs and does not have any awkward angles or points. I like that the part that sits on you is NOT made of those little beads. This is foam all the way. And the wrist rest is thoughtfully placed. I wish it was removable for those times when I might not want a wrist rest but I can't imagine that would happen all that often. And, the added bonus of the wrist rest is that it keeps your laptop from sliding into you lap.Size.... For me, this is perfect. The surface pro 3 has a pretty small footprint, but this desk has plenty of room even for the big boys. A 17" laptop should have no problem on this thing. five out of five stars again.Looks..... not that looks matter, but for those of you concerned about it, this thing is a real looker. I bought the one with the black cushion. I was afraid it would look drab. It doesn't. another five out of five.Function..... You have got to love a company that goes the extra mile and this company certainly did. As I type this I've plugged in the little light that it comes with. It hardly seems bright at all and yet it is doing a very nice job illuminating the surface pro's keyboard. I don't really need it because I am not a college student who has to worry about keeping their roommate awake while I stay up till all hours writing a term paper (you can feel sorry for me.... people didn't own computers when I was in college and I had to pay someone handsomely to type my dissertation). So, if you need a light this is a good addition. I love how it stores away in the cushion and that you can find the battery compartment in the cushion as well. And yet when you look at this thing you can't tell that there is a light and a battery compartment stowing away. I really wanted to deduct a half a star for the fact that this thing doesn't open up at all to give you a place to store pens and paper or flash drives or backup drives or other computer peripherals. I think if Sofia and Sam come up with a second generation of this nifty lap desk they should consider a peripheral's compartment. But alas.... the fact that they thought of such a clever light and battery compartment makes up for the fact that they left out a little storage space. But lets not make that mistake again. So, function also gives this 5 out of 5.Whenever I am reviewing an item I try to also take into consideration the price paid. I am not going to hold a 20 dollar bluetooth speaker to the same standard as a sonos system. I will still point out pros and cons but will take price into account. When it comes to this laptop table/desk the fact is that the pricing was excellent. Very very reasonable for what you get. I think it was priced just right.BOTTOM LINE: Well crafted and well thought out. Highly recommend

The rest roll is very nice because I set my Bible on my laptop and it serves as a shelf to keep it from falling. As far as working on it it is okay but I don't like that it's so slanted. Everything falls off. The worst part is the light gave out came apart right in my hand as I was shutting it off and now I don't think I'm going to be able to get to it to work again. I will try new batteries and see if that works. I miss the kind where there's a band on the end so you can stick your pencil under there since I think they hold better than these little gouge out places they give you on the lapboard. Personally I would not buy it again and I would not recommend it. I only wish he had sent it back.

Got this for my elderly mom for her new laptop. She loves it. The cushion on the bottom is comfortable and raises the laptop up on her lap so she isn’t leaning down. It helps keep her laptop cooler by creating a flat surface. It also has enough space for a cellphone. She loved the extra light attached.
