Impressive!
I was kind of skeptical when I ordered the Pool Blaster but now that I have used it a few times I am very impressed. When I took it out of the box it looked more like a kids toy but when I used it the first time I was very pleasantly surprised! Our neighbor has bamboo trees and the leaves are long and stringy and get caught in our Hayward Navigator which then needs constant cleaning. This thing pops right on the pool pole, push the on button and it sucks up the bamboo leaves no problem. The catch net is holds a lot of leaves and is easy to clean. I recommend!

A great product but be careful.( See three year followup)
This is a leaf vacuum but it does more than that . It gets everything up except fine dirt. Just put it on the end of the pool pole, turn on and you are in business. A regular skimmer vac has trouble picking up leaves . It gets caught in the vac head brushes. This device has rollers which are about 3/4" higher than the head which sucks up leaves without issue. The downside to this otherwise perfect gizmo is that they do leak on occasion which can cause failure. This has been written about many times in previous reviews. To prevent this I undo the battery pack screws and inspect for a leak after every use. So far there was just one. I just wiped it out and let dry without any issue. If I didn't catch it the batteries would have corroded within a week being immersed in water . I switched the regular alkaline batteries to rechargable. I use the device a lot so that is a money saver. My opinion is that this is a great product even with the leakage issue. You can clean a 36"X18' pool in 15 minutes. Spot cleaning even less. It will not replace your skimmer vac but with this product you will be using it a lot less. BTW no good on dead algae it will go right through the net. Best to use the skimmer vac for that. I find after 3 weeks of opening the algae issue is not there anymore. Fast forward three years . The 75 cent on off switch broke . It is so cheap it is beyond belief . They do not offer a replacement. So shell out another $90? Nope. I bypassed the switch which leaves it on all the time . My on off is just connecting it to the battery pack and then sealing the battery pack . When done cleaning I just unplug the battery pack. Probably just as well. as you need to open it up after every use to check for leaks. Also after three years the chlorine n he pool destroyed the rope holding the net onto the vacuum . Pointless to try to redo a small rope in the net so just buy another net assembly . The net also showed wear after three years. So after all that if I had to replace this device every year I would. It is just a time saver for my leafy pool!

Unimpressive....
One manufacturing problem, the on off switch doesn't work. Press it 4, 5, 8 times and maybe it will turn off the motor. I removed the switch, by removing one screw, and just moving the leads to the switch is enough to turn the motor on. Clearly the switch is defective. So even when it's turned off, the leads can switch on and allows the motor to turn on again. The only way to ensure that the motor is turned off is to detach the batteries. Given that there's some serious torque on that motor, it should probably fail safe. It doesn't. I got it turned off, left it outside, and 5 minutes later it had turned itself back on again. Which leads us to the next problem. I suppose I should have looked more closely before I bought it, but the device runs on 8 AA batteries. This isn't a very big supply of electricity. I had a big problem with a large quantity of leaves on the floor of the pool. It's going to take a lot of time, well it would if I could trust it to work correctly. I don't think 8 AA batteries are going to do that job. Which means replacing them a couple of times. I'd rather have had a rechargeable lithium battery in the device that could be recharged with out disassembly. Would be nice if it was an add on. Like a battery and charger that could be installed if you purchased it separately. Finally, I did use it a couple of times and it was not horrible, but bringing it up out of the water, it was easy, very easy to lose the bag, and have it sink to the bottom of the pool, which in my case meant fishing for it, because I can't see the bottom of my pool at the deep end. A couple of floats on the bag, to make it just slightly positively buoyant would mean if the bag got detached, it would have a chance of floating up. I realize this might cause problems getting the device to the bottom of the pool so it would have to be just enough buoyancy to raise the bag, but not hold the device up. Maybe a couple of ping pong balls in the bag might be enough to keep it from sinking like a rock. The big problem right now is that the switch is defective. It fails on, so the device is useable, but not in my opinion very safe.

Solved the problem and no need to pur your arm in the cold winter water!
Had a skimmer basket with handle (new) get solidly wedged in the skimmer well due to filling with large oak leaves after storm such that could not be removed without breaking it and so i ordered the Pool Blaster Dynamo which has operated as expected. Unfortunately, to is not able to get to the bottom but surprisingly eliminates almost all of the large Spanish Oak leaves with ease and is extremely easy to empty and clean. So no need to lift out the skimmer baskets on either side of the pool :) !
