do you have to pay a separate monthly charge for a MINI and a roamio?

Just spoke to Tivo Sales. They said a Mini bought at Bestbuy would be charged an $5.99 additional monthly fee. You would only get the free lifetime service (no monthly fee) if you buy it directly from Tivo. Bestbuy.com has the mini on sale for 139.99, maybe this is why. Offer ends May 4, 2015. Buyers beware!

When added to a 4 tuner Roamio does this TiVo Mini steal 1 tuner at all times? Or can all 4 tuners still be recorded on directly at the Roamio?

i have the tivo roamio with ota antenna support and tivo mini. all 4 tuners can be used to record on the roamio. The mini dynamically takes away one tuner when using it.
