GoPro Vented Helmet Strap One Color, One Size

I recently purchased the GoPro Vented Helmet Strap Mount on Amazon, and it’s been an excellent addition to my GoPro gear. This strap is a game-changer for anyone who doesn't want to rely on sticky mounts but still wants a secure, stable way to attach their camera to a helmet. AMAZING INVESTMENT if you own a GoPro!!!!!!! In fact, if you own a GoPro then this accessory is a mandatory one. I use this mount on the back of my hand and take amazing video while scuba diving, cave tubing, bike riding, skiing, and hiking in the mountains. In fact, this strap works better and costs less than the actual wrist strap. Also, while on the back of your hand, you will always have the camera out and ready for the spur of the moment videos you might need. To use this on the back of your hand, you begin by placing the soft foam side on the back of your hand. Bring one strap around the outside of your hand, over your palm, and behind your thumb then secure it. Next, bring the other strap around the inside of your hand between your thumb and index finger, over your palm, to the outside of your hand and secure it. Now tighten the straps, but not too tight because you will realize that when you hand is in a fist, the straps tighten (and you will always want to shoot video with your hand in a fist otherwise your fingers will be in the video). Once the GoPro is snapped in place, use the quick-release vibration plug to secure the camera. Also, you can tether the GoPro to the straps, thus making it near impossible to lose the GoPro. And there you have it, a cheap and easy hand mount that can be used in the water, on a hike, in the snow, etc….

The mount is good! But I think the Amazon delivers need some training for real!!!!

What I like: 1) fits my helmet 2) pretty secure when cinching it down 3) mounts just work What I don't like: 1) you can't cinch it down with the gopro mount on: the thumbscrew gets in the way 2) the extra nylon straps flap in the wind 3) the nylon strap ends are starting to fray slightly...needs more heat to seal up.

Simple and well made with quality materials. Time will tell. Attaches easily, but can take a few trial and error attempts to decide which hole locations work best for the mount to be sturdy and maintain position. The plastic block where the camera clips is thick and rigid, a good thing. Grip pad is firm, also a good thing. I'm usually fine with aftermarket stuff if I can save a few bucks, but on a mount for a $400 camera, spend more and buy OEM. Sounds like a few people are getting counterfeits. I received a genuine GoPro OEM accessory in sealed original retail packaging. My order was sold by Ritz Camera. I noticed the seller on this item changes frequently. Be cautious, check specific seller ratings, and only buy when it's "fulfilled by Amazon". That will give you recourse if not as described.

It's tough to get it to mount super firmly, and at least for me the straps inside are uncomfortable against the top of my head after a couple hours riding, so consider an adhesive mount instead of this. The camera pulls my head down a bit, but it hasn't been a big problem. Mirroring the GoPro video to your phone screen is essential to getting it set up with the right tilt for good framing.

Sometimes i use this on my helmet but it gives an odd high vantage point, but it works. My preferred use scenario is to attach it to my ride pack shoulder strap. Though it doesn't offer crystal clear video and it is shakey it offers a really cool vantage point of the action. When i use the backpack strap setup it shows the trail of course but also shows a little of my face and bike. The footage also seems much faster than it does when its attached to my head. In addition you dont have this giant camera hanging on your head which adds to some head bob. How to do this? Simply find an area where you want the camera to face, take note of how you ride and how you position your body to get the best results. After that just run the loops as tight as you possibly can and keep in mind your body will be the mounting point, you dont want it too loose. So the tighter you get it the better and the less movement it has on your body the better. The results will be clear enough, but not crystal clear due to stability issues. I've read that some people have made baseplates and such, which would be great, i just dont find it too much of an issue. Great price, order a couple when you see them on sale.

This strap was received from HelloCart is not the original GoPro model shown in the pictures. The straps do not include the locking cam buckles (shown in the pictures). These are necessary for a secure fit. I returned the item for a full refund but all these stupid knockoff sellers drive me crazy! You get what you pay for, but for just a simple strap and mounting plate, I thought it was worth a shot. Unfortunately the "By GoPro" at the top of the page was misleading for the actual product that was received. Due to some of the positive reviews, it looks like the original might be available through choosing a different seller under the "More Buying Choices" section at the top of the product page. I was so turned off my this purchase that I did not re-order. If I buy this product in the future, I will buy directly from Go Pro or another authorized dealer.
