CoolSand 2 Pound Refill Pack - Moldable Indoor Play Sand in Resealable Bag Blue

I had never played with any kind of sand like this before but I had purchased a box of 2 lbs for each of my kids for Christmas. Before Christmas someone had given my daughter the name brand kinetic sand in a very small kit as an early present, and all I could think was, oh dear God - what did I do? I could see the appeal but it was really messy and the few molds that came with the kit, the kinetic sand would get stuck in it and wasn't as workable as it looked on TV. After Christmas my kids ripped into their CoolSand, and I'm so relieved. It's what the kinetic sand should have been. Don't get me wrong, it's still messy. But my kids are messy, to be expected. But the clean up on the stuff is a lot easier, you can actually take a bit of sand to pick up other small bits of sand. It still has that fluid sort of feeling like kinetic sand, but it doesn't get stuck in the molds like the other one. And I had to play with it too to test it, I think it just feels more cool and more moldable, definitely more fun to play with. So pleased with it I just ordered another 2 pounds each kid- which was a tough call to make because I'm pretty poor right now and the stuff is pretty expensive, but the kids love it. Will keep them busy for hours, not to mention the sensory aspect since my daughter is also autistic, and I have to admit I kind of like to play with it too. I also purchased the molds for the sand in the same brand and it just really is the icing on the cake. I absolutely will not even bother trying another brand of play sand after my experience- I'm pretty certain this stuff is probably the best.

I am re-writing my review because since my last review, Cool Sand has clearly made improvements!! Their kinetic sand is super soft, moldable and lots of fun to play with! Our 4 yr old son is on the Autism Spectrum, and 9 yr old daughter had sensory issues, so we like to provide both children with toys that are not only fun, but help to stimulate their senses. Cool Sand does an amazing job at providing tactile stimulation for each of our children. It also helps our youngest child calm down when he is upset, as it gives him something positive to focus on. He REALLY loves his "sand!" Thank you so much to Cool Kids Cool Sand for giving us a second chance to review their amazing, improved product. We will continue to order Cool Sand as it is a great product and a great value! I highly urge others to check out their line of products!

I purchased this kinetic sand for my two young boys, one whom suffers with sensory issues .. This sand was actually recommended by his therapists who claimed that it would help him. I doubted her judgement but nonetheless purchased the sand along with the shaper accessories. I cant express how amazing this product is!!! Both my sons can play with this for hours, and its been especially helpful for the one with the sensory issues. the texture is amazing, it holds its shape so the kids have been loving creating a whole farm yard or animals with the shapes. I put the whole bag of sand in a big container and we play with it inside the container and arrange the shapes on a board, this makes cleanup and storage easy as 1,2,3. the sand has stayed very soft and fresh , I have to be honest I'm not sure who is enjoying this toy more, mommy or the boys:) the sparkles and bright colors also add a very fun dimension to this product! (iv seen this sand in neutral color before and its just not as appealing to dig into) I highly recommend this product and will be purchasing some additional colors as well. shipping was very fast too. overall very happy customer.

After doing some research, I decided to buy this brand and I'm pleasantly delighted after 24 hours of play. My daughter and her friends make home made slime and the end result is odd smells, missing kitchen ingredients and dye all over my butcher block! This is none of those! I also bought the inflatable Cool Sand Tray Large, well worth it! She has plenty of room to play in it. My next batch will be the non-glitter ones. I also bought plastic jars for storage from another supplier; my daughter has named them fruit lol. Cons: Glitter everywhere, molds are generic and not appealing to a 10 year old girl Pros: Easy to use, easy to wash, holds form, no dye transfer

This sand is great! Finding a kinetic type sand that is the perfect balance between staying solid and being “flowy” is hard to find. I work as a counselor and kinetic sand has been the most popular item in my office to play/fidget with when talking for both kids and adults of all ages!!! Some find it fun and entertaining while others get a more soothing/calming affect from it. It is a bit stiff feeling right now but this is the first time I’ve bought this brand so maybe that stiffness will soften the more it gets played with. It’s been quite a hit with the clients that I’ve seen so far and they love the new color! That is another thing I am very excited about is the variety of colors! My plan in the future is to definitely stock up on this as I tend to change it out fairly frequently due to all the people that I have coming into my office and playing with it.

Yes it’s cool and fun to play with. My kids loved it. However the glitter does not stick to it and makes a HUGE mess. Also I wouldn’t say that the kinetic sand is any less messier than play doh. Pros are that the sand does dust off of clothing easily and the color does not transfer on hands. Cons are that the glitter is sooooooooooo messy and the sand itself still gets everywhere.

I sent this to my 10 and 8 year old grandchildren to give them something to be creative with during the Covid-19 pandemic. I wanted them to have a break from their video games and use their brains for something different. They love it! This is seriously very cool stuff and I am so glad that they are enjoying it. It has a very cool texture and cleans up really nice, not like regular sand. This will clump together and is easy to pick up.

Very disappointed. Spent almost $50 on this sand to make an aquarium themed sensory experience for my Autistic son (8yrs) and my toddler (3yrs). I had to throw it away and go buy more from a different brand. This sand was hard, not mailable at all. It was course feeling and never broke down farther than a few chunks. It is like the sand is too dry or was frozen solid at some point. We gave it time to settle and sort it self out but it never did. Never had this problem before - hated we had to throw our money away, we are single income it matters what we spend our money on. Do not buy.
