Amazing light source for the money
I purchased the Elinchrom BXRi 500 kit which included two lights, 2 Manfrotto light stands, 2 26x26 inch softboxes, the Skyport wireless receiver and carrying case. As an onsite portrait, event photographer I needed a lightweight, portable, powerful light source in a small portable package. The Skyport wireless system is easy to use or they can be triggered with a on/off camera speedlight. The quality is great and they have survived being knocked over on to the pavement while on location. I have set these up and taken them down 100's of times and i have never had an issue with the construction/quality of the product. The only drawback I can comment on; there is no Elinchrom battery pack available for these and many of the third party brands on the market are not compatible. If you are an onsite event, portrait photographer or I you have a home studio, the Elinchrom BXRi 500 kit is a great option for the money.

Nice light--Weak mounting that will break.
Great light but the light stand mount is plastic junk. First time I mounted it on a light stand a tightened it down the mount broke! The thumb screw is threaded into a plastic mount--not metal. Even some of the cheapest strobes out there use metal. While Elinchrom is know for great light--their mounting systems are low level.

Great Lights for the Price
I have had these lights for over a year now and they work great. I purchased a dual BRX-500 set with softboxes. I use these in studio and on location. So far I have not experienced the issues that a few others were complaining about.

Good light shame about the screws
Lights are great but the screws are weak and are not made to be used with anything bigger than 2'x2' softboxes. They usually can not hold up reflectors or softboxes that weigh more than a couple of pounds.
