After dealing with constant connectivity issues on a cheaper head unit, upgrading to this Pioneer was a complete game changer. Apple CarPlay works exactly as it should—my iPhone 16 connects instantly every time and stays connected. No random drops, no glitches, and no interruptions, even during long drives. The system is smooth, responsive, and reliable in a way the cheaper units simply aren’t. You can immediately tell the difference in build quality and performance. Everything from the interface to the connection stability feels polished and well-engineered. If you’re on the fence because of the price, don’t be—this is a “buy once, cry once” situation. It’s sending sound to a 1000 watt Rockford Fosgate amp that I also Amazond , driviving 16 Eclipse 3 way , 2 JBL 6 by 9” and two JBL 14 inch subs. Sounds really great! CarPlay works great ! Only problem, I might need a hearing specialist 😜

This is a terrific unit, blends in well to the dash of my 51 ford truck, only issue is that nowhere does it mention that this unit requires an amp to get the volume up above a whisper....I don't mind having to buy on, it would have been nice to know beforehand.

I’ve had it for several years with no problems. Like the big screen with only having room in n dash for small opening.

Works great, perfect choice for older cars. The screen resolution and only wired car play/android auto is definitely outdated, but this unit is probably the best option available. Wish there was a new version! Shown in my w123 Mercedes.

This stereo has a lot of features, and is designed very well. Its understated, and not flashy, with lots of customization. There are lots of cheaper options, but if you want something from a premium recognized brand, this might be your only option for flip up screens. This unit is easy to use with a bright colorful screen, and the sound is great, with several pre-pop EQ and two savable custom EQs. For the price, I think this unit should come with wireless android auto and apple car play, but wired is okay, im usually charging my phone anyway, so not a big deal.

It's by far one of the best purchase I've made however there is an issue. The safety feature for anti theft isn't safe at all. You can take the plastic trim to activate the anti theft mechanism but you are able to use 3 fingers to apply pressure on where the pins would go and still access the head unit. Although a ridiculous way of doing so, it is possible and doesn't really qualify as anti theft. Overall a great device and I get a ton of compliments on it in my car :).

I was disappointed to note that the advertisement regarding the pioneer car receiver listed that it was apple carplay compatible, but listed nothing about the fact that one must connect a 2.0 cable to the receiver and a cell phone to make this possible. So from the instructions on the box this information is not present therefore making the advertisement misleading.
