Bought this to spray some outdoor lights with. The reviews had a bit of a reputation for them rusting so I’ve sprayed as a precaution. Too early to say yet if that’s still rust free. But it was easy to apply and dried very quickly.

How can one rate durability a week or so after receiving the item? That's why I've given only 4/5 as overall rating; it might be worth 5/5. The task I've assigned to the Rust Shield is quite tough: protecting a model biplane, made of ungalvanised sheet steel, and out in the garden in all weathers. The product was easy to apply and there was enough in the can to give the little plane four coats. After a few days of wettish weather there's no sign of rust. Without the coating I can guarantee that the whole thing would have been yellow with rust. But I'm looking for a couple of years' protection. We shall have to wait and see.

This is easy to use . I used it to varnish my customised bike painted with acrylics, to stop the paints flaking off. Excellent!

Jenolite rust shield clear lacquer spray 180° I decided to try this on my brand new red brake calipers. Hoping it'll slow any corrosion and perhaps keep the brake dust off or make it easier to clean the brake dust off. I also masked off the braking surface of my new discs and sprayed this onto the central hub of each disc in the hope it'll slow or stop any corrosion of it, which can look ugly behind clean alloys. It's far too early to comment on the anti-corrosion or anti-brake dust performance of the lacquer but be warned that it's very difficult to get a uniform glossy result. I stopped using it after spraying two caliper mounting brackets. They now look as though they've been sun bleached for a year :( It dries quickly, within 4 or 5 mins and it was immediately obvious on the first coat that some areas are clear glossy and others dry with a milky satin or faded clear coat. Tried a second and third coat (instructions say 3 to 4 coats) hoping that it would improve, it didn't. In the photo you can see the caliper has no lacquer applied and is glossy compared to the bracket. The discs have been factory coated in silver so you cannot see the lacquer unless you get really close. So be very careful what colours you coat with this, silver, aluminium etc may be ok. This should really be called a satin lacquer.

Très bon produit, qualité pro, rendu à la hauteur des attentes , après avoir retiré la rouille et bien laissé sécher la pièce, on applique à bonne distance en extérieur et avec un masque surtout! Sèche assez vite, résultat très satisfaisant , sur une sculpture de Tim Vendeur sérieux, je recommande Je ferai mon bureau indus en métal décapé au printemps avec ce produit sans doute

Me recomendaron un producto para limpiar las llantas del coche ennegrecidas por el polvo de las pastillas de freno y que nunca se podían limpiar bien del todo. Funcionó estupendamente, no daño la llanta... pero sí debió llevarse por delante la laca/barniz que llevan las pinzas de freno y al poco tiempo empezó a aparecer óxido en las pinzas. Lo quitaba y volvía a aparecer, sobre todo en días de lluvia o con humedad, claro. Busqué un poco y encontré esta laca, quité el óxido previo (aquel producto lo hace bien) y una vez seco apliqué esta laca protegiendo antes la llanta para evitar salpicaduras o manchas. El diseño de la llanta de mi coche proporciona espacio suficiente para hacerlo sin desmontar rueda, por lo que con cuidado y algo de plástico + cinta de carrocero apliqué JENOLITE Rust Shield en dos capas, mucho mejor si las pinzas no están calientes, claro. Ahora vuelven a estar protegidas, debe aguantar bien la temperatura que pueden alcanzar las pinzas porque no he vuelto a tener problemas de óxido ni desprendimiento de la laca. Aunque no era más que algo estético, en mi caso se veía mucho y deslucía bastante el aspecto del coche. A partir de ahora, un simple chorro o túnel de lavado y algo de cepillo en la llanta si no se ha quitado todo y nada de productos mágicos, que aunque sean de marcas reputadas, que pueden resultar muy agresivos (los hay que no lo son tanto) y atacar otras superficies, llantas de aluminio incluidas. Aunque es transparente, lo he usado también para el paso de rueda, donde al hacer la aplicación anterior observé que se había perdido la capa protectora de los bajos en alguna pequeña zona y había mínimo óxido. Tampoco aparece ya más, aunque hay productos en negro satinado para esta aplicación concreta (protección de bajos automóvil) Recomiendo este producto. Para el caso de uso citado, me ha funcionado perfectamente.
