Great looks, Good Protection, excelltent shift and rear break feel. Awesome boots!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS 2/24/2015:' These are a good cross between riding boots and comfortable shoes. Many riders have never seen the damage that can be done without wearing the proper footwear when riding. These "high-Top" riding SHOES will work for just about any semi-aggressive street-bike rider. They look cool and feel great!2 DAYS LATER!!:'•••••The Rivet that holds the feed-lock block on the top of the right shoe ripped the rubber•••••, so the boot is ruined. Luckily AMAZON is replacing them with my free return.GRADE (For Now):So I'll keep the 5-stars because these offer good feel from my shifter and rear break with looks and protection....CONCLUSION: As long as the replacement pair of boots does not suffer the same fate as the right boot on my first pair, In my opinion, with the JOE ROCKET ATOMIC you get top-tier protection at a very reasonable price. Seeing someone's foot get half ripped off during a group ride because they had all great gear EXCEPT for a quality riding boot/shoe made me buy a pair IMMEDIATELY! I hope the next rivet does not come out....and no..... I did not adjust them to cut off circulation to my foot. it was a comfortable yet firm hold that didn't last on the first pair. The buckle design should have been made with a nylon mesh under the robber where the rivet attaches, this would've proved to be a more robust design. There may be further issues with these...TBD"MADE IN CHINA" MAKE EM IN THE USA JOE ROCKET!

great short-style riding boots - excellent fit and finish for the money
I needed some shorty boots for my Triumph Tiger trip up and down the Mississippi Valley - and these worked PERFECTLY. Broke in in 2-3 hours, with a tiny bit of initial toebox stiffness disappearing after a few hours of flexing on the bike.Easy on, a bit tight off, but I am very pleased with the fit - I wear a 12, and these were just right for normal socks. Well made, no loose threads or glue globs - all in all, one heck of a deal on some heavy duty, walkable riding boots. I would buy them again for warm weather riding ( as well as the mesh joe rocket jackets - just so nice to adjust the airflows ! )

Comfortable, good design, but manufactured badly.
Comfortable, good design, but manufactured badly. The first pair I received had a faulty latch, which I returned. The second pair lasted longer but the toe slider has had one of the screws/anchor points go bad. I'm wondering how well these would actually protect me in a crash...

Good Boots
These boots are good quality from a great respected brand. The clasp is metal so should last a long time.

Excellent boots.
They are better than the last iteration. They made them easier to slide on and off when unstrapped. Added armor for the toes and still very comfortable. Same price as the originals.

Cheaply made, fell apart after wearing once
I wore these boots one time and the buckles on both of them broke within 30 minutes of each other. Also, the material that the outer part of the boot is made of started cracking and splitting near the toe guards on both boots. They look nice, but they're very poorly made and didn't last me more than a day.

Triangle of Pain: material inside of the boot/shoe was sticking down.
I am not one to purchase something without extensive research, and I am sad to say this shoe/boot did not match what I researched. I was very excited to get them, could not wait to try them out on my bike; before I even put them on I was disappointed. First and foremost the black rubber strap which holds the shoe on looked aged (it was dry, cracking in some areas and one of the rivets was popping through the leather). The white also was pretty scuffed for being a brand new shoe. These were all things I could have ignored... until I put them on.At first I thought something was in them, maybe I had missed some cardboard which kept the upper part of the shoe in place. So I stuck my hand in and discovered what I was feeling was part of the shoe. Let me try to explain this; it seems as though there was some extra material in the inside of the shoe, and instead of cutting it out the manufacturer simply glued it to the top of the shoe. The problem is it seems to have detached and now is a triangle of pain which hits you right on your first knuckle of your big toe. To imagine this, if you place your finger on your big toe and trace it back till you hit the first knuckle (point your big toe down and you can see it), right here is where you feel it.I thought maybe I could push it back and it would re-seal; it did not. Then I tried to just ignore the pain and I wore them around the house for a hour, it didn't go away and once I was done the spot was sore for several hours. Now, I did some checking and I could only find one other review on a different website in which a guy stated the exact same problem as mine. Usually I would just assume it was a defect and order a different pair. However, the guy stated he tried three others on with the same problem. I really don't want to keep risking this, so I will be returning them for a different shoe.PROS:- Cheaper shoe; won't kill your wallet.- Looks nice, many options for color.- Love the design, it really is aggressive.- The buckle across the top is nice, easy to use and decent in getting on and off.- Really like the reflectors on the back of the shoe (one of the reasons I got them).CONS:- The triangle of absolute pain in both shoe/boots.- Cheap; the material (except what is leather) feels and looks cheap.- I liked the steep crop... until I walked around in them.- The white (as can be expected) will easily show any wear or tear.- The sole is more stiff than I thought, more like clomping around than walking. All in all, I would have kept them had the inside of the shoes not have the painful triangle. Honestly I think this shoe is older and is not in production anymore, and it has aged in the box.4/10, would not recommend.
