and LOVED IT. I had other wee sing compilations but ...
Ah, the wonders of Amazon and the Internet. I actually had this when I was maybe 7, and LOVED IT. I had other wee sing compilations but this was my favorite. I always remembered the United States song.Well about two weeks ago, my husband and I were (for some reason) trying to put the states in alphabetical order and he was baffled as to how I did it so fast. What do you know, 23 years later and I still remembered all of the words. So I decided on a whim to google the name of the set, found it pretty easily and ordered it on amazon. I'm not at all ashamed to admit it's in my CD player in my car right now... Although I did turn it down at the drive thru this morning haha. The songs have a new luster now that I'm older and with the weird times the country is going through, but I hope my son remembers the same songs from his childhood like I did from mine.

Love this
Good quality sound, statements from history are intertwined with the songs. You get full versions. I remember singing some of these songs as part of our country heritage in school. I sing along all the time. I bought another for my great nephew and niece. Great if your patriotic.

Talk about memories.
When I was a child, road trips were a summertime ritual. The Wee Sing cd's (tapes at the time) were a large portion of the soundtrack of my summers. If we were going nuts in the car, my mother would pop in a Wee Sing tape and we were suddenly glued to our seats singing along with the tape. As we learned to read, we learned to use the book that came with the tape if it had survived the three of tugging at it. As we got older, we lost or forgot about the tapes. My first niece was born early this spring, and one of the first things that popped into my head was that she HAD to have the Wee Sing's. This was part of the first of what I hope will be many that she owns. The appeal of the songs has a wide age range; while it is appropriate for my newborn niece to listen to in the car, it also makes an excellent tool for my wife's 5th grade social studies class. I am so excited that this series is still around and growing!

Good history lesson; one drawback
One star off for including "Dixie", which is closely connected to the Confederacy. But, if we look at this CD as a history lesson (which is primarily why I bought it over other patriotic CD's), then I suppose the inclusion of "Dixie" is a good thing; also I don't believe in censorship. Maybe this just requires some explanation to your kid. I have told my toddler that the song makes some people sad and that's why we don't sing it other than hearing it on this CD. When she gets older I'll explain why it makes people sad/angry, but I think that's a little beyond her comprehension at this age.Other than that issue, I really like the CD and what's on it.

I'm on my 3rd cd!
I love this cd! I first heard it years ago when I was a student teacher in an elementary school. A different song from this cd (tape, back then!) was used as part of the morning announcements. When I became a teacher myself, I used the tape as part of my class morning routine, and in no time my students were singing along to the Star Spangled Banner and singing the names of all 50 United States. I love how kids are used to to sing the songs. The tape eventually gave up, and I somehow lost the second copy (a cd!) so I recently bought this book and cd set for my own children to listen to. Still as wonderful as ever, except this time I noticed they made some changes and added and removed some things to make it a little more politically correct. Just to clarify, I put off buying this for a while because this is listed as a book, but it's actually a book AND cd set, so the kids can sing along with the songs and learn the words rather quickly.

Great music for youngsters
We had this for our son when he was little. Had to find it for his identical twin daughters.

Takes be back to childhood!
Still a great CD, and my kids love it. My husband will only listen to this one when he drives the van😄 so it's not an annoying kids CD

First half of CD better than second
My kids love this CD and from listening to it every time we drive in the car they have memorized so many songs. The first half of the CD is great. The second half...not so much. Lots of random songs that may have been popular with select groups of people in the 1800s (miners, cotton pickers, cowboys, etc). They are not mainstream patriotic American songs. My kids don't mind but I loose my mind every time I need to listen to "dig ye terriers, dig" every car ride.

買い替え
以前アメリカでカセットテープのものを購入して、また聴きたいと思いCD版を買いました。CDと一緒に歌詞本もついているので、重宝しています。値段も手頃でよかったです。
