This thing worked great. We had a can light in our closet that limited the brightness. We switched it to a track light using this. Took my husband all of five minutes to install.

The instructions and videos make it look simple. It's not. Problems: 1. The "bracket shoes" that are supposed to tighten the device into the can are impossible to budge, and the wrench that's supplied to do this isn't deep enough, so it's useless. 2. The "self-tapping" screws meant to hold the device into the can are not self-tapping at all. I had to drill a hole for them. 3. These screws need to be tightened with a 90º screw driver/drill adapter. 4. The grounding screw gets in the way of the mounting bar that's part of the fixture being installed. I used this to install a track light, in case that matters. If there's a better-designed device for turning a can light into a standard electrical box, I'd love to see it.

You have to be really handy with tools as well as have a battery operated impact drill. Have a second set of hands for help as well. In a difficult scale of 1-5 I would give it a 4. Be aware that you will also need to drill holes or have a better type of self tap screws on hand as the ones provided just won’t cut it. I will give it that once assembled the change makes a big difference.

This is a great product if you want to remove a can light and install another form of lighting. We had a can light over a bathroom vanity and wanted to replace it with a pendant. Worked perfectly and was easy to do and cost effective.

There is a step to use a wrench to adjust the width of the bracket. This step is not possible as the bolt/nut holding them together was welded, so using a wrench you have to find yourself, does not work. I'd look at an alternative if I were you.

Used the Can converter to convert a recessed light above kitchen countertop to tracklighting. This product worked as advertised. Saved the cost of an electrician taking out the old can lights and putting in a junction box. First time installation without experience, took me about 3 hours. It was not hard. I recommend watching the video instructions on-line.

Used this kit to install a ceiling fan. It was simple to install and it was solid. No issues with the install of the bracket or ceiling fan, even when running at top speed.

We bought the Woodbridge Lighting Can converter to change out two pot lights in our kitchen to pendants. First we ordered the wrong size, and found Amazon to be as efficient with the refund process as they were with the shipping process. We could have sourced them locally but the ones available locally were rated for 5 pounds, these are rated for 50 pounds. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the parts were sturdy. The process was very simple and the pendants look great!
