Need a new adapter for you monitor to iMac M1? ?????
Kinda pricey (as most Apple stuff is), but is a perfect replacement for your old Dell monitor. Plug and forget it. Just replace your old adapter, plug it into the New skinny little USB plug on the back of your iMac and viola. External monitor on and working. 2 minutes tops from box to "in use". 8/28/21 Well, now I'm not so sure. My iMac M1 has been crashing. And for NO good reason. However, the fact that I'm using an external monitor with a non-Apple adapter has been brought into question as a possible problem. So, I've had my external monitor disconnected for two days now and no additional crashes. However, I also going to leave it disconnected for another week to see what transpires in the interim. If I experience any new crashes (screen goes black, iMac reboots), then I'll agree that it wasn't this adapter causing it. However, If I plug it back in and it crashes even once, that's a pretty good indicator that the adapter is suspect. Stay tuned, I'll update this in a week.

Replaced by vendor
After my adapter has stopped working after six months, the vendor reached out to me and replaced it free of charge with a working one!

Great for PC / Terrible for Mac
This is a solid tool for connecting your old PC monitor to a new Lightning connection port. The cable is strong and can take heavy use. It's small, lightweight design allows it to be portable and can easily be thrown in your laptop bag for use on the go. I use it everyday for my remote work set up in my home office. I connect my older model Samsung monitor to my newer model Lenovo Thinkpad. It works really well and I've been using it for quite some time. I would give this product 5 Stars, however when connected to my MacBook Pro the connection is unstable. The screen constantly blacks out and comes back after a few seconds. It's extremely annoying and I stopped using it for my MacBook. Overall it's a great product and value if you're going to connect it to a PC. I cannot recommend it for Mac users.

LEGACY MONITOR TO A NEW COMPUTER: PERFECT!
I went through a number of adaptors unsuccessfully before landing on this. I needed to hook up an older monitor to a new computer. This adaptor did the trick in connecting the VGA to USB-C with no flickers. It made a solid connection and I'm thrilled to use my older monitor once again.

Plugged and Played! No Messing Around! Desktop EXTENDED!
I bought this Bincolo USB-C to VGA Adapter, USB 3.1 Type C (Thunderbolt 3) to VGA Converter to extend my desktop. It worked perfectly right out of the plastic bag. Hardware: iMac 27" (2019) Samsung SyncMaster 2253 LW 19" (My old monitor that I used with my previous computer) Connected via VGA cable from Samsung to Thunderbolt 3 slot in back of iMac. I am extremely happy with the ability to extend my desktop because I constantly seem to have lots of things to do at the same time.
