Great upscaling
This DVD player flawlessly plays DVDs from US, Japan, & Germany. I can’t speak to other areas cuz those are the discs I have. My husband is continually impressed by the upscaling. Standard definition DVDs look good on a 40” HD TV. We’ve had no issues. This really is a plug & play device. It even properly plays audio from discs that my computer struggles with (the computer plays the voice track super quiet, but from the same disc this player acts like everything’s normal). My only complaint is the complexity of the remote makes me look at the buttons I’m pressing cuz there are so many buttons, but that’s not worth docking any stars over. I’ll get used to the location of the buttons I use frequently.

Great quality and performance.
This player hooked up to my old 10 inch TV in seconds and plays beautifully. The remote is easy to use with plenty of options and setup choices. The picture quality is excellent. You cannot go wrong with this unit.

Worth the price
Comparable to LG and Phillips dvd players. For the price was surprised by quality and features. Remote easy to operate and picture good. Only thing I dont like is they have a cap in the volume at 15 which is low so still have to use TV remote to make it louder. Worth the price.

Very Satisfied. Easy to set up and use.
I was very satisfied with this DVD Player, more than I expected. It's easy to set up and use, and plays really well. I would purchase this particular player again.

Plug & Play, Automatically play your PAL and NTSC DVDs
I wanted a DVD player that I could watch DVDs I purchased on both Amazon US and Amazon UK. For some reason, depending on what country you bought your DVDs from, they have embedded a specific region code into the disc. UK discs used the PAL format and US discs are formatted using the code NTSC. So here's the dilemma, not all DVD players can read both kinds of discs. I still don't understand the reason for this region code system. I live in the US but I can switch to Amazon UK and purchase DVDS there, have them shipped to my US address, but until recentl I had no way to view them because you couldn't buy a PAL player in the US, and vice versa for the UK not having NTSC players available. Now that we can pick up a player such as this that automatically figures the region code and plays it according to format it's wonderful. This little miracle machine, is easy as pie to set up, just plug it in to electric and, second plug goes into an available HDMI slot in the back of the TV. That's it. Now I can watch my US region code discs of The Office and What We Do In The Shadows. Then pop them out and put in my UK region code discs of Plebs and Inside No. 9. And any other of my favorite shows no matter where I bought it. I have an HD Samsung smart TV and what this little DVD player sends to my screen is 100% HD. Not an ounce of degradation. I wish these region free DVD players were always available.*Edit - I've had this DVD player for almost a year, and I picked up one for my 80+ year old Mama this week because I haven't had any problems with my original player. I'm writing this edit because I noticed a few people have had problems recently. I use mine a good amount, had it for almost a year, moved it around in different places in the house, my cat has been known to sit on top of it by the TV, and it survived quite nicely. It's not an expensive machine so if it does poop out after a while I would feel like I got my monies worth. And finally, I mentioned my 80+ yr old Mom because it's easy for her to use as well. She's not really tech savvy but after I gave her a quick demo she can work it. It's very simple actually. One button turns it on and off, one opens and closes the disc door, and there you go. Included remote is also simply set up and not too small.

MEGATEK DVD PLAYER
Someone stated that you can't change resolution when using HDMI cables. Not true, as the remote has a Resolution button, so you can change to the old analog format of 4:3, if you want. Res settings are: 480i/p,720i/p,1080i/p. This player seems pretty good for the money. It played a DVD TV Series Set (Mills Creek Entertainment) that wouldn't play in my HP laptop for some unknown reason. It had nothing to do with the Region (tested), they just wouldn't play, and worked fine in this player.Update 7Apr25 : While watching a movie, it started blinking on/off and projector then showed hdmi signal loss to DVD Player. I have maybe only about 10hrs of time on it, and the hdmi cable that came with the player somehow stopped working. Changed to new cable and everything works fine.

Fantastic and Fun To Use
This player is very well built and more importantly, works phenomenally well. Has great design with lighted time counter and easy to use buttons on the unit. The remote has all the bells and whistles you'll ever need and simple to use. Will resume where you left off even after turning unit off. The flash drive works great and is a bonus to get with it. Anyone would be extremely happy with this product!

Good DVD player but make sure no defects early on
My first DVD did not work properly; it skipped. Amazon was excellent and replaced it and I returned the defective player. This new player works well, very simple to set up and simple to use.
