TExES Life Science 7-12 (238) Secrets Study Guide: TExES Test Review for the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (Mometrix Secrets Study Guides)

I just finished passing my TEXES238. After having taken the exam here are my observations:1) This book's practice test don't resemble the exams in that they have 5 answer options and many are meant to be confusing, however working through their exam open book and then doing it closed book did provide valuable study.I combined this book (which does have some in depth content much of which was too detailed) with another study guide and some online resources as well as a high school biology book.This test is more about applying all the concepts and information in scenarios not about defining terms and regurgitating memorized texts. It is an "applied knowledge test".This review was helpful but I'm not sure the writers have actually seen the test! All competences have some coverage but don't rely on this alone. My advice is find as many practice questions as possible and practice strategies as well.

Well organized information relevant to the exam. The tips are very helpful and the practice exams prepare you for the real exam!

This book was great for a higher level overview of all the life science topics, but I found I had to watch videos online to get the level of understanding that was required for the state test. I don't think it was worth the price I paid for it, because it it was somewhat helpful on subjects where I already had a good knowledge content.

I have found this book very nice. I have not taken my test yet but have read numerous of good reviews from people who used this book and aced the certification!

I really liked the booklet I purchased! It worked really well with other books from the library I checked out and was very simple and to the point. I also really liked how the booklet grouped everything together based off the diagram that Texas Teachers supplied for me. It doesn't group by competencys, but by the four main sections you will be studying. This was easier for me because all the competencys in the group (from the test booklet) are sometimes saying the same thing anyways.

I love how the product helps you prepare from both long term and short term for the exam.

The content review in this "book" is sparse with a few errors that I found. The practice questions are not better than those found in other books. It is more of a booklet than a book, the binding consists of 2 staples! I won't waste my time and money on a review book from this series again.

This is so much more comprehensive than other study guides I have tried. It practically walks you through the test and does it in an easy to understand way
