This. Is. Amazing. (a woman's perspective!)
I originally bought a pull-up bar over a year ago for use with P90X (then P90X2). Well, little did I know at that time that me doing a pull-up was next to impossible. For the first year, I was only able to do pull-ups by wrapping an exercise band around the bar and doing modified pull-ups from the floor. I wasn't happy with having to resort to that, but I couldn't do real pull-ups and cheated too much when trying to use a chair. After awhile, these modified moves were just too easy and I felt like I wasn't working at all when doing them. I finally (recently) bought the pull-up assist band, and can am now able to do pull-ups (with the assist) on the bar as intended. WOW what a better (and more exhausting!) workout doing actual pull-ups versus tugging on bands! It was easy to assemble, and easy to adjust/use. I have mine adjusted pretty tight because I need all the help I can get. I've only used this for 3 workouts so far, and I'm still only able to do 3-4 pull-ups per set, but I feel the burn and am sore the next day. Already my numbers have SLIGHTLY increased (by .5-1), and I look forward to being able to lower the band slowly as I improve. More importantly, it gives me a lot more confidence knowing that I can do these the real way, just with a little help :)I'm 5'6" and ~160 lbs, no support issues and no appearance that the band is suffering. My pull-up bar is probably (I'm estimating) about 6'6" from the ground, and I don't have to modify the way I stand in the band - when I'm in it, it pulls me at a slight angle (tilted just about 10 degrees) and I'm able to keep my body straight, foot in the loop, and pull myself up. I would imagine this would be difficult for taller people with bars that are not mounted high.A few cons that I can easily look past, but thought I should mention: - I recommend wearing shoes, since the foot loop isn't very comfortable on a bare foot (that's a lot of weight bearing down) - The way I'm using it (maybe there is another way?), the strap crosses the inside of my calf and rubs/bruises a little while I'm doing the pull-ups. Again, I have the band very, very tight and this might not happen if it was looserOverall, I very highly recommend this product. I wish I'd bought it from the start. Hopefully I'll remember to come back and update after more progress!

Works great and as advertised
I was nearing the last phase of p90x when I decided to order these. My pull ups had hit a plateau where I could do around 5 unassisted but then had to use the chair. I had been kind of stuck doing that and using a chair felt like I was working my leg more than my back. I am now in my last week of p90x and have only been using this for a couple weeks but it already has made a huge improvement to my pull ups. I do as many as I can unassisted and then switch to using this. It is great because you are going straight down and back up only using your arms and back instead of pushing up with your leg. My back was actually sore after the first week of using this which it has not been since about the middle of phase 2. I went from around 5 unassisted pull ups/chin ups and then around another 10-15 of assisted pull ups with this band the first week of phase 3 to around 10-12 unassisted pull ups and another 10-15 of assisted pull ups with these bands. It is really nice also because you can take the middle band out if you want less resistance. It was easy to set up and is fully adjustable in height which also tune the resistance to what you want. The only con I have with it is you really have to make sure you go straight up and down without having your body sway especially on switch grip pull ups otherwise the plastic clip on the top can move around. I think that is good however because it makes you concentrate on your form more. I did not realized how much I was swaying during assisted pull ups with the chair until I used this. For reference I am a male 5'9" 180lbs and have had zero issues. If you are really heavy it may not work as well for you. Just keep on using the chair until you get down more and then try it if you have problems with it. I was around 300 lbs about 4-5 years ago so just keep at it and you can drop the weight. Diet is the most important thing though.

this really works! I can get my head above the bar now!
I did several rounds of P90X3, watching this thing constantly be pushed. I didn't buy it and I didn't buy it and I just used bands to do a pull-down movement. But the fact of the matter is, the band pull-down is NOT the same. Because I was unable to do a real pull-up. I tried a couple of alternatives, like standing on a chair, but none of them were exactly what I needed. So I gave in and bought this.I am so happy I did. It came with an instruction sheet but I didn't need to pay too much attention to that. It was easy to put together and easy to install (just hung it over the chin-up bar on my power tower). And it is so easy to use. I have it on a high assistance level at the moment but that just means I have a lot of room for improvement. And with this thing, I can actually get my head above the chin-up bar, at least a few times. I'm loving it!I am 5'5" so I am not sure how this would work for a taller person. Because of the high assistance level I've got it at, it is a bit difficult to get into and out of (but thankfully my power tower has a lot of places to grab on). The stirrup part is plenty big for my foot in an athletic shoe. Here on Amazon, you're in for about the same amount of cash as you would be at Beachbody (where you'd have to pay to ship it -- the total ends up being the same, but Prime is faster!). Anyway, if you're struggling to do pull-ups, this thing is great.

Helpful product for somebody new to chin ups
Overall this product does what it advertises. It is easy to setup and use. If I had to provide criticism I would say that it needs to come with a variety of bands to increase/decrease the amount of support(you can remove bands to decrease, no way to increase). It is worth the money even without that feature.

Little Awkward to use
This does the job. Its simple to setup. However I do find the plastic piece near the foot mount scrapes against my leg. Its usable and definitely helps if you are a heavy weight just getting started doing pullups

The chin-up is a great piece of workout equipment
Awesome. Definitely helps when I do numerous pull-up reps. A must for early beginners.

Highly recommend this band!
Using the chair method before was awkward and I didn't feel like I was really pulling with my upper body but rather using my lower body to push up. With the help of this band, I can actually pull myself up and get a proper upper body workout!
