How to use the base
I wanted to write this review to give other people some insight into setting it up. First, I’ve only had it up for one weekend but it appears to be a quality product and really provides a big shade area. It is pretty easy to put together, but it is heavy, especially when standing upright. Nothing wrong with that because it is big.I wanted to use it this past weekend so I set it up with the base provided since the pitiassy base did not arrive until the following Monday. The included base is not heavy enough to hold the umbrella up when extended. I was able to find some weight, 2 boxes of heavy tiles left over from when my house was built, which I put across the included stand. That worked as a temporary fix for the weekend. The included stand does have 8 pre-drilled holes which I assume could be used to anchor the umbrella into a deck. Since I am using mine on a concrete patio, that anchoring wouldn’t work.I had a feeling that I would need a stand so ordering the pitiassy stand made sense. It arrived on Monday and I set it up today. The stand works well. However, as mentioned in another review, there are no instructions included. Seems strange so that is why I felt the need to include this review.First the base works well. If you have ordered the umbrella and base, you do not need to put the umbrella together with the included stand. The umbrella attaches directly to the base so if you put it together before the base arrives, as I did, you need to take the included stand off and attach the umbrella to the base in the same manner you set it up originally. In other words: YOU EITHER USE THE INCLUDED STAND OR THE OTHER BASE SOLD BY AMAZON. NOT BOTH.The weight for the base can be managed two different ways. You can use either sand or water. I chose water since I have that and don’t have any sand. I have had similar options on other things and have used water as the weight source with good results so I’m sure the base filled with water will work. However, be aware that the base is basically 2 sides which both need to be filled up with either water or sand. There are 2 fill holes on opposite sides and 2 fill holes on the top. The umbrella comes in 2 parts, what I will call the support and the umbrella itself. You need to take the screw out that connects the 2 parts, separate the parts, which then makes attaching the support to the included stand or to the other base. I attached the support to the base first and then decided to fill the base up with water. I wasn’t sure what the 4 fill holes were for so I assumed I needed to fill each one to completely fill the base. After filling one side up from a side hole, I then needed to attach the umbrella to the support which is probably the only difficult part of the assembly. It really helps to have someone help you with this part because of the weight and it’s distribution and lining up the 2 holes to redo the screw which puts the umbrella back together. Since I now know that you can fill up the base from the top holes, I would attach the support to the base first, then attach the umbrella to the support and then fill the base up. When you fill it up you need to fill both top holes or both side holes as each hole only fills one half of the base. The base is very heavy when filled so it is hard to move after you fill it. It does have wheels but they are not touching the ground so maybe there is something else I needed to do.I did not use the additional sandbag included with the base as I think the base filled with water will be sufficient. However, if it appears I need that should a very windy day show up, it appears to be easy to add that additional weight.Getting back to the umbrella, the materials appear to be quality. All of the hardware was included with an Allen wrench used to screw the parts together. All of the holes lined up, which is always a good thing. One other thing. When raising the umbrella, you squeeze a trigger mechanism and you have to push the umbrella out and then raise it to your preferred height. There are 6 positions however I think only the top 2 or 3 is what you want to use when you extend it. I know this procedure to raise the umbrella may sound confusing but it will make more sense when you try to open it.Hope this review helps anyone who had ordered it or is considering ordering it. I am also going to add this review to the base.

Sturdy heavy base
I would give it a 5 if it came with instructions. Why do you need instructions on something that is put together? I spent 30 minutes trying to take it apart to put the base of the umbrella into this base before I realized that I should just throw the other base away and put this base back together again. A little frustration that could have been avoided with a simple big sign. "discard old Base"

Commercial Grade Material
The base's sturdiness was a pleasant surprise and the size was smaller than I expected. The sealed container prevents the water from evaporating and the wheels on the base are a plus.

Defective
Finally received both the umbrella and base. I started to fill the base with water and found that the base leaks water around one of the wheels where the axle snaps into. The umbrella and base were an easy assembly, just a very disappointing outcome after waiting so long for these products. I did a patch job with flextape until I get some sand to refill the base with.

Dimensions
Bought with the cantilever umbrella. It is quite large, but worked perfectly on the deck with the cantilever umbrella. Must have.
