Well balanced and so sharp
As a keen cook I have often considered purchasing a Global Knife but the price always put me off. After some research I opted for the Global Nakiri knife as it suited my cutting style and majority of what i chop is vegetables. I always thought knives needed to have weight to them however this knife is no were near the weight of my others. It is not necessarily light but extremely well balanced. The handle is textured giving great grip even when slightly damp. The sharpness of the blade is surgical. I have never used a sharper knife. As the blade is thin cutting vegetables thinly and accurately. Although razor sharp my cutting is safer as it is easier. The knife is ideally suited to vegetables and can be used on softer meat. Yes this is an expensive bit of kit but worth every penny.

Easily the sharpest, best knife I've owned for cutting veggies. Probably fine for meat, too. The thinness of the knife makes it glide through most ingredients. Cutting an onion with this is a pleasure. I haven't sharpened it yet, but it seems to hold an edge very well. It has maintained some good sharpness after several months of regular use. Just take care of it and I imagine it'll last a long time.

I own numerous Global knives , this particular knife is my favourite , so much so , I own two , one for work and one for home , I am a Chef and use this knife at work almost exclusively , and needed one for home, so I bought another . Global knives are awesome .. Other people have other preferences , but I have owned most of mine for quite a few years and have only ever needed to "steel" them to bring the edge back .
