First time I used it, there was a funky aroma, but second time it had dissipated. I used it both to 'bake' and to 'defrost'. Both options worked as expected. I like the LED option, which tells the minutes left to bake, which is also an adjustable feature. 'Stop' button option, in case toasting needs to be interrupted. 'Lift tab', to align cooked item above the toaster surface, in order to grab. Nice feature. Crumb tray slides out easily. Cord is of adequate length. Seems to heat properly. Like every other appliance, hope it lasts more than a millennium!

We needed to replace our ancient toaster which had finally given up after many years of service. This one had better reviews and fewer complaints than than most, and since all we wanted was a basic toaster than could hold fairly large slices of commercial bread, and the price was right, we tried this one. It couldn't be simpler: set the temperature setting (it has a selector knob with a numerical display that defaults to 4, which seems to be what we end up using for toast), press the handle down, and voila: toast. Either slot can be used for single servings. For bread that does not reach the top when the toast pops up, you can use the handle to push the toast up some more to get it out. It toasts both sides at once, and usually they come out even, but if you are OCD about this, they are not always identical; the outside burners sometimes seem to run slightly hotter than the inside ones, but for me they are more than close enough. There is a slide out plastic bin at the bottom for removing crumbs that is very easy to use. All in all: if you are looking for a basic toaster, this is a very good and reasonably priced one.

I have had this toaster a little over a month. So far, so good. It is a nice looking toaster and appears to be well built. I did not want to take a chance with a non-brand name. Not sure if it makes a difference these days but I felt more comfortable with a company with a known positive reputation. All the functions work as advertised. Bagel function works well. The function that allows you to push toasted items up above the normal set position is very helpful In the past, I would have to use a knife to wedge up items that sat low in the toaster. The opening width of the toaster is good. I have no problems getting a bagel in the slot without getting it to close to the heating elements. I think the criticisms in the other reviews have some merit but I have never had a toaster that doesn't. It does take some time to complete the toast cycle but every toaster I have owned is similar. I have had a toaster that browns more quickly but on some items it would toast the outside but not warm up the center. I think the cycle time is fine. The other issue is that it does not brown evenly. No toaster I have had toasts perfectly. I have always set time to a shorter interval and then turned the toast to complete the cycle. Overall, this is a good basic toaster. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews and I am satisfied I picked the right toaster given the price range. The unknown at this point is the longevity. I will update accordingly.

Family is very pleased with this toaster. The highest setting really darkens the bread.

I love the features on this toaster. I like the cancel button if you want to stop it sooner. It works great! Its wide enough for waffles. It looks great!

Toaster is not consistent with the toasting. Regular pieces of bread have to be done on level 5. However bagels burn on 5 so they have to be toasted at lower levels. Kept the toaster but wished I returned it for a different one.

Works well and has different degrees for toasting.

Since I have to look at this toaster on my counter for the rest of my life, It must look great. This sturdy Stainless Steel Toaster is a masterpiece in simple design. Easy to use. Plug it in, Setting four gives an even light toast. Setting five is a darker toast. By hitting the plus or minus button, I am all set for an evenly toasted bread. A toaster needs to... look good, be easy to use, be sturdy, and toast well. The Hamilton Beach 2 Slice does all these things perfectly. I hope you enjoy your next toaster.

The product is quite impressive. I didn’t expect it to work this well. The build quality feels heavy and strong. I did a lot of research before buying it, and the decision turned out to be right. The performance is good and it is value for money

I like this toaster, it works well for me. It would be nice if I could clean more of the crumbs out of it, like if it had a larger crumb tray.... but well I think this is just typical of toasters. I like that I can lift the toast up a bit to make it easier to remove if the bread is a bit short... and I like that the slots fit bagel slices fine. So many of the new toasters I saw, while out hunting for one, had a lot of plastic in their construction which I really did not like at all. This one has very little plastic (just the bottom underneath the crumb tray and a little on the front where the controls are), it is almost entirely real, actual metal. :)

This is a 4.5 star review - it would have been 5 stars except for one issue. The good: Firstly, this toaster has a proper bagel setting unlike many other toasters. The bagel setting on this toaster just does one side - so ideal for bagels, buns, english muffins and the like. I prefer these items to have a toasted inside and warmed but untoasted outside - exactly what this toaster does. The bagel setting on many other toasters, including a different one I recently purchased (and then replaced with this one), simply adds extra time when on the bagel setting, with all burners lit up. That's not what I want. The toaster works well, it is nicely sized (not too big), has reasonably wide slots, an extra lift to get items out of the toaster and is easy to clean. The Bad: As other reviewers have pointed out, a design flaw is that the toaster reverts to its 4 setting every time. So if you like a 5 darkness to your toast, you have to manually change to to 5 each time - it will not remember that setting. I personally don't find it an issue since the 4 setting is normally fine, or I just pop it back down for a bit of extra toasting - but for some this could be really annoying. Hopefully this problem will be fixed by the manufacturer in future models of this toaster.

Tuesta de forma uniforme. La única queja es que hay que ajustar el nivel cada vez, ya que vuelve automáticamente al nivel 4, que consideramos demasiado oscuro. Para nosotros, el 3 es perfecto.
