Q: Is the remote ir or rf? need to use in a chamber without line of sight.

The remote is IR as it appears to have an infrared LED at the tip of the remote. I tested this just now by covering the remote in a solid object and it could not function so it is indeed a line of sight communication.

Q: How to disable beeping sounds?

I opened mine up and unsoldered the beeper from the board—still worked fine afterward, so it’s doable but it was a lot of effort.
