Excellent Book!!
I love the book. It's very informative and in depth. The only Cins...most of the fruits run same temp and time. And things shoukd be discussed on what not to do or if u run into a issues what to do. I've watched alit of u tube videos that get way into how to make sure is dry... what works what doesn't. BUT fir the price it is a very good book. And yes..it has recipes like Jerky!!! I highly reccimend the CASORI 6 TRAY DEHYDRATOR. IN 2022 BIUGHT MINE AT BLACK FRUDAY..BEST DEAL. 299 ON SALE 199 THAN EXTRA 40% OFF THAN I GIT THE AMAZIN STIRE CARD..GAVE ME 60.00 MORE OFF FOR STIRE CARD! MY final cost fir a 299.00 Casori 6 tray...was 40.00!!! Get this book..2 extra silicone trays and the Dehydrator. Your golden! As we speak I'm dehydrating 4 lbs of blue berries. I washed well..dried..put on tray in freezer... tomorrow will blend in blender spread on fruit roll up tray. Dehydrate, than break it up put in blender I will have 1 to 2 jars of powdered blueberry to add to smoothies or put in muffins! 1 tblsp of powdered berries equals 1 cup berries. Strawberrues..dehydrate and jar. They are like amazing intense strawberry gummies! Beef jerky amazing! 4 lbs steak or ground beef equals 1 lb jerky. Have fun!

The cookbook I've been looking for!
I've been looking for a cookbook that is specifically adapted for home dehydrated ingreedients for a long time. This is the One. Dehydrating home grown and store purchased meat, veg, and dairy was not new to me. Nor how to use my dehydrator properly. What I truely needed was a detailed cookbook that then focused me now How To Include all the foods that I had processed into clear recipes and tasty home cooked meals. This book should have been more accurately titled 'The Dehydrator Cookbook Bible' . The first 75 pages are dedicated to the basics of food dehydration but it is the remaining portion of the book that really shines for me. Many recipes use a combinatin of fresh and dried ingredients and offer tips for alternative ingredients when there is something you may not have prepped in your pantry. There is also a very large section dedicated to camping/hiking recipes with the majority of them as 'just add water' type of cooking. Overall I would call this an excellent cookbook to add to the shelves of any persons interesnted in Prepping/Sustainability, accross the spectrum to those just interested in how to streach your food buget with home dried ingredients.

Same info, same authors, different books
The book and its contents are ok. There are a lot of good ideas and recipes. The two complaints I have is that Some of the recipes are very complex for a backpacker. Maybe not for a canoeist/kayaker or car camper but I was hoping for more of a "prep your meals at home and vacuum seal then add water and boil when you make camp" approach. The other issue that I have is that it is almost exactly word for word the same book as "The complete trail food cookbook" by the same authors. I would recommend the book but only one or the other... Not both
