I am using the text on an iPad and also on my iMac; both have current operating systems. The online version of the textbook (which is what I have) is supposed to provide additional information at appropriate points (as indicated by a characteristic symbol) for those "who wangt to delve deeper:". That feature doesn't seem to work on either of my two devices. Otherwise, I think the text is fine
