38724 Macerating Pump System, White

We have it installed and it is working wonderful, even though it was broken in the transport. I did send some pictures when I did a review before. The outside casing was creaked in a couple a places and a piece had fallen out of the interior. We were in a rush to get our bathroom installed so took a chance that there was no damage to the interior. I feel the packaging of the unit was very inadequate. So far it has not leaked, but I would like it documented that it was damaged. It would be very much appreciated if I were given some sort of compensation for the damage. Thank you Janie Adams

I used the product inappropirately, long smaller drain line, 10' gravity drop into the resevoir, and it functions perfectly. I guess I'm so happy because I anticipated having to find creative solutions. But the pump is strong, the resevoir is over a quart, maybe two. Probably my saving grace is that the lift is only about 2'. Anyhow, a year in and it's just what I needed.

I ordered this product not because a discounted price but for convenience. Once recieved and un boxed I found that the outlets were not the same as the old one I had, everything else including the part numbers matched up. This caused me to have to re-plumb the outlet and added cost to an already expensive replacement pump. On another note the old pump had to be replaced after 5 years due to a heavy calcium buildup which I tried to keep in check with non-acidic toilet cleaner(monthly overnight soakings). If it happens again I think I'm gonna scrap the upflow pump and have the drain installed in the floor. To prevent the buildup they have special cleaners meant to be used every 6 months around $50 cost.

The other reviewers are just too forgiving. Not only did our pump leak after hours of installation, which seems to be a common problem, but everything on the pump unit is plastic and light weight rubber. All the toilet valves and tank accessories are cheap Chinese-made plastic. Even the flush handle is light plastic, and it was made wrong so it fits awkward (pointing downward) against the tank. Toilet seat won't fit properly, so it sits crooked - also cheap plastic. The tank lid sort of perches on top the tank, rather than sitting over a lip. Finally, the toilet connects to the pump unit via an ugly black rubber sleeve, clamped on by a hose clamp. Not attractive at all for a bathroom. The pump itself seems to be strong and quiet, but that is the only positive. For almost a $1000 for the whole setup, this thing should be precision quality and gold plated. Instead, it is the lowest quality possible for an upflush toilet system. My advice, spend $200 more and buy a Saniflo.

Worked for about a day, after many phone calls and emails i still have a toilet that doesn't flush. Big waste of money!!! I was upset with all the money and work when the toilet didn't flush right but Thetford sent a replacement pump

I am on my second one ,,, The biggest down fall is that you can not disassemble the to repair minor problems with them ...

Works very well. Meet all my expectations. Not very hard to install but it would have been nice to have instructions with the product instead of having to dig around online for the manual.
