Excellent replacement for a classic Mustang!
This Dorman fuel sending unit was a lifesaver for my 1968 Ford Mustang. The installation was straightforward and took me less than an hour. The unit fit perfectly into the tank and all the connections were a match for the original. After installing it, my fuel gauge is working accurately again, and I no longer have to guess how much gas I have. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone with an older Mustang or similar classic Ford model.

Great replacement. Comes with ring and gasket
Needed to fix the sender on my 65 mustang, and this one did that. Alignment prongs we’re a bit off but with a fine tune from my pliers had them where they needed to be. Gasket and lock ring are included so no need for an extra purchase. Tho the gasket is a bit hard to align, and the supplied lock ring did not lock on mine, I was able to re use the original lock and got it done in no time. Works like a champ. Great value for the quick delivery.

Fits ‘66 Mustang Original Tank
1966 Mustang with original tank - everything fits well. Everything fit, no leaks. No issues with the gasket or the retaining ring like other reviews have mentioned. Fixed my fuel level reading. The only thing I had to do was bend the two tabs on the back of the sender inwards just a little bit. When compared to the original, they were too far outward and it wouldn’t drop in the tank. 10 seconds and a little squeeze on each tab fixed this. He included a pic.

Dorman is quality
Dorman products always fit and work exactly like oem! The price is always fair no matter who retails it. The fuel sender unit fixed my inaccurate gauge problem. I'm happy!

works, has the brass float, much better than the plastic ones, gasket leaked re-used old one
THis is very good. the gasket provided was a pain, it leaked, ended up re-using the old one and the old retaining ring, consider doing the same if you don't want to re-drain the tank after it leaks

It's cheap trash. What is this world coming to.
Do not buy. This is the 2nd unit in a year and half to stop working. 1st unit I pulled brass float was split in half. I had emptied tank for winter and just figured it was defect. Past warranty. Stuff happens. Replaced in April and continued to rebuild 65 convertible mustang. Got carb tuned in enough to drive in November. Went thru 1 tank of gas and it stopped working. Emptied tank and guess what I found. Brass float was split in 3-4 areas. Where slight bends where. Very, very thin brass. Can't get a hold of seller for replacement. Total import trash. Cost a bunch of money, time and frustration. Again, don't buy!!!

1965 Mustang
Didnt fit original fuel tank, but it needed replacing anyway. Got the Dorman fuel tank and it fit perfectly. Old rusty tank and sending unit gone, new ones installed at around $200 for all.
