Looks brand new and its a used rented.
I rented this book for my English class. This is the one "With Readings" There is another with a black cover that doesn't have the readings and is also not as long(content, not book size) This version with the blue ish aqua cover has the readings and some people in my class actually got the wrong one so make sure you get the one you need. Or if you don't know I would get this one because it seems to have everything from the other book plus the readings, actually some of the content is actually on the same pages for both books. Hope this helps, oh yeah for the actual review; the book looks like it's brand new and it's a used rented book. It really is in amazing condition.

The papers are pretty thin, but I don't find a problem highlighting ...
Bought this for my COMP 1 course. the book is very small and heavy. The papers are pretty thin, but I don't find a problem highlighting or making notes. I do however, have a problem with the binding! My pages are starting to fall out, they seem as if they were never set in the book at all! Highly upset about this. It's only for one course, but I was hoping to have it in good shape enough to review back on it while I continue my college career. I hope I don't have to end up tossing it after the class is over :(

Used but Usable
Unlike what the description said there is a good amount of writing in the last 100 pages of the book. Otherwise it is in good condition!

Clearly Written
This was a required textbook for a class I took. Clearly written, and the authors actually incorporate into their own writing the very techniques they discuss. Also, the cover and the paper in the book felt very nice.

Great Book For Future Writers
They say I am crazy for wanting to become a writer. I say I am crazy for not wanting to become a writer. On the one hand, they are right but on the other hand I am right.

great help for English 2
Used this in my English II class. The first part of the book is excellent help for how to write creatively and other styles. They offer wording suggestions for how to word specific styles of writing. The last part of the book are short essays or stories to practice writing analysis and opinion essays.

Extremely useful
I love this book. It is easy to read and really improved my assignment writing. I got this with audible as well as paper back. I will continue to reference this book for years to come.

Not so useful I felt -too high school-ish
Although this is highly recommended, I didn't quite like it. It seems quite high school-ish {i'm a PhD student struggling with writing my thesis], and I just felt the language and examples were not particularly useful for what i need to write. It's also a huge thick book and again with a lot of content just not useful for me. I'll be selling mine either here or on ebay.
