Excellent value for the money and it simply just works !!
I needed to get the Audio output from the TV for a new audio project for a friend. we had already ran cat6 but rack was on the opposite site of the room where the receiver resides. This converter worked right out of the box...I tested all 5.1 channels and the info gets carried and works great.....

Product won't transfer audio via fiber port without adding decoder ahead of device.
Bad application. Product won't transfer audio via fiber port. Audio decoder has to be added ahead of this device.

I have not tried coax conversion but fibre to cat5e works great. I have 5.1 surround sound no issues all channels working great.

The reason I paid more for this unit than comparable ones is because of the pictured power supply. It was a USB power block with a USB cable tonnected to it and the unit to supply power. This would have been perfect as I intended to put it behind a TV and use the TV usb port to power the device. When It finally arrived it had a regular power supply and that messed up my plans. There were similar units at 2/3 the price that I didn't buy because they had that type of power supply. I've since purchased one of the lesser priced units and it works great, this one will be returned.
