These are the best magnifiers that I found. The lens is glass, the lighting works wonderful! They come in a number of powers. One thing I found out is the higher the power, the smaller size the lens area. A 4x is medium power for maybe general reading etc. I got one of those and it's about 3" across. I got a couple of other ones that were much higher powered. I believe a 7x and maybe a 9x or so. If you want to use it to look at stamps or take out slivers, I would highly recommend the higher powers. They are about 1 1/2" or so across and work wonderful. I think that the unlighted ones are worthless. The batteries in these can replaced. I was not disappointed in choosing this particular company that makes these.

This is a good product. The LEDs are bright, but you have to get used to the two level push/pull switch that controls them. the 4x magnification is more than most similar products, which is what I wanted. The only improvement they could make would be to make it larger in diameter.

I got this for my 86 year old dad who has vision problems. He absolutely loved it. He's able to switch it on easily even with his arthritic hands. I'm so glad I got this for him.

My wife is having some difficulty with reading as her eyes get older (she of course doesn't). With that aging phenomenon is a need for more light on the subject. The illuminated magnifying glass does the trick.
