It's big and beautiful
First off, you have to know that you are buying a bag meant to carry A LOT of equipment for a backpack. It's going to be big and it's going to be heavy. I cannot take stars away for that because that's its design. I need more time to do a thorough review, but here are my initial thoughts after an hour stroll with it packed with two camera bodies and three lenses: It's got the space for just about everything you could need outside of a studio light kit. My D500 and D810 fit like a bug next to the 70-200, 14mm 2.8, and 30mm 1.4 with PLENTY of room to spare. as always with Lowepro, the pockets siding is all adjustable, which is nice because I plan to make room for my 150-600 in this thing. The padding all around is hefty. I feel very confident about the quality of the material used. Stitching feels solid, the zippers are robust and don't catch, and the shoulder straps are thick and comfortable. Like I said, I only have an hour walking time with it. I'll come back when this thing hits the trails after a few weeks.

The Lowepro Pro Runner BP 450 AW II is easily the best all-around camera bag I’ve ever owned
The Lowepro Pro Runner BP 450 AW II is easily the best all-around camera bag I’ve ever owned. I used two other Lowepro bags and still use a GuraGear 30L bag when I need to carry a 500mm lens, but this one is the best, especially when flying with a lot of equipment. Two tips: 1) It comes with an external tripod foot, which I’ve found is unnecessary. Leave it home and save some weight and space. 2) It comes with a small, removable accessory bag that fits in the bottom of the bag. I like carrying two bodies with lenses attached, so I remove the accessory bag and use that space for the second body. PROS: - Capacity: It holds a 15” MacBook Pro, iPad Air, two pro-size camera bodies with lenses, 6 other lenses, external flash, light meter, Hoodman, several 100m filters, and lots of memory cards, batteries, and cables. At the destination, remove the MacBook and iPad, attach the tripod, and you’re ready to go. - Comfort: The straps and padding work really well. I’ve hiked for several hours in hot weather with ~28 pounds of equipment and have not been uncomfortable. - Ease of use: It easily fits in the overhead compartment on an airplane. The internal dividers are easy to adjust and there are enough of them to create separate compartments. The handles on the top and side make it easy to carry. There’s a good size pocket for a large water bottle. CONS: - Just one nit: With two bodies, in the top and bottom of the bag, the fit is really snug on the side with the camera grip. It’s not so snug that you can’t get the cameras in or out, but it’s a deep bag (for pro gear) and sometime you have to rock the camera to get it in or out. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this bag. It’s the first one I’ve had that can carry two bodies (ready to shoot) with a wide selection of lenses, external flash, lots of accessories, MacBook and iPad.

Nice, well built
Nice, well built, attractive and I can put all my lenses inside from Nikkor 200-500 onwards. Laptops 15",tablets and all accessories fits inside effortlessly. Theres no problem in taking it as a handbag but watch the weight.

The waterproof cover is nice to have if you find yourself in bad weather ...
I don't usually write too many reviews but this backpack deserves special consideration. I ordered this backpack to carry all my gear on a Storm Chasing tour in the Western US in the Spring of 2016 and it really came through. You can read all the specs and watch the Lowepro video but until you have it in your hands you probably won't understand the level of quality that goes in. The zippers open very smoothly with a single hand, no snagging, working back and forth. Strong inserts to keep your gear snug. The waterproof cover is nice to have if you find yourself in bad weather from time to time. I carry a 5D Mk III, 7D, 5 lenses, about 13 batteries, a lightning trigger, tons of cleaning rags and of course my 15" laptop. Having a case this size allows me to rest assured I have everything I need to grab one bag and hit the road. There are other bags out there that might cost $50.00 less but they are 1/10 the quality. Make no mistake, this is QUALITY. I have no affiliation with Lowepro other than as a retail consumer.

We sent it back. It is not a backpack ...
We sent it back. It is not a backpack you can take backpacking & photographing. It is much too heavy and uncomfortable.

Holds your kitchen sink and then some
Just received the Pro Runner 450 AW II backpack. I needed to order two (one for me and one for my husband). There is one per order so you'll just have to submit each backpack one order at a time. I did a lot of research on which would work best with the gear I have. I wanted something that wasn't too big (I'm only 5'4", that would still fit under the seat on an aircraft or on a train) and something that wasn't going to be too heavy since I'll be lugging it around. I finally decided to chance it and order this one and I'm so glad I did. This backpack has so many compartments and it was MUCH cheaper than ordering it directly from Lowepro. External: - Padded back, shoulder pads, and a nice padded waistband to clasp around your waist for more support. - The zipper pulls were great because you could attach a TSA security combo lock on either zipper compartments. If you're ever forced to "check" your luggage in the cargo hold due because of lack of overhead bin space or you just need leg room. On a side note, I would NEVER recommend parting with your camera gear or laptop. Things go missing. Side: - Mesh pocket to hold a small water bottle - Name card holder Front: - 2 front narrow pockets which could hold pens, or a ruler if you feel the need to measure something - Snap clasps to hold your tripod Front-zippered compartment - Keys, phone, misc - Tablet - up to 15" laptop (thin) Main-zippered compartment - Multiple lenses - 2 DLSRs - Zippered bag to store your power adapters, chargers, batteries, intervalometer - Portable external hard drive - SD cards or even a small carrying case which holds your cards - Filters My main concern was my zoom lens. If you own a Tamron lens, you would know they aren't small by any means. I have a Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens (w/ hood) and, although it was snug width-wise, there was enough room to place the zoom lens in the center after making some adjustments with the velcro liners. My other Tamron is a 15-30mm G2 wide angle lens which fit nicely, along with my standard Canon 24-105mm f4/L lens. I was also able to fit a Canon 24mm f2.8. My primary DSLR (Canon 5D Mark IV) was able to fit on the top and my secondary DSLR (Canon 80D) was able to fit on the side of the zoom. Overall, I'm really happy with the amount of compartments and space this backpack has.

hits the nail on the head, it has everything I want in a bag!
So first off a little about the gear i used before switching over to this bag, i started off with the lowepro bp250 AW, ive owned that bag for over 3 years and i loved it, EXCEPT the fact that extended periods of use was very uncomfortable, it would chafe in certain areas and wearing it while on foot all day in Seoul. During my trips id carry about 7 batteries, a 5dsr with battery grip, a 24-70 and a 70-200 lens, lens filters, tripod, remote trigger, and 2 fullsized speedlites. all of that felt a bit cramped in the old 250 so I eventually sought the need to upgrade. this bag was exactly what i was looking for, now in addition to all of the items mentioned, I can fit my back up body. the way the bag is constructed is phenomenal, its rigid and provides excellent comfort from first impressions. the ability to put a tripod centered on the bag also provides a lot of relief, the downside with the bp250 was the strap was weak and even though the tripod would be secured i'd find it flopping around when walking and running. So far this is based on first impressions and ill have to follow up after i've had a chance to wear this bag in the field. overall, I'd recommend this bag highly.

Fantastic bag!
Fantastic bag!! Doesn't feel like as much weight as I know I'm carrying when I have 2 cameras, a few lenses, several different accessories, hard drives, 15" MacBook Pro, iPad, and a partridge in a pear tree!! (Ok fine...there's no partridge!) The only downside is that when I put my laptop in, my bag is very front-heavy, so it'll tip over when I set it down.
