Amazing product
Sonax is an excellent tool for cleaning your wheels of brake dust. Both application and removal are simple. Although this product is a little pricy, I would still recommend it. Additionally, I would strongly advise purchasing the 5 L if you plan to use this frequently.

Best Wheel Cleaner
The best wheel cleaner. On properly cared for wheels, you can just spray on and then rinse off, no touch, clean wheels. For slightly or very dirty wheel, spray on "cold" wheels, let sit for 2-3 minutes, agitate with a brush or by hand, then rinse. Usually will remove all brake dust and dirt in one pass. Although expensive, it works as described. Can be diluted, but must be careful not to over dilute and reduce the effectiveness of the cleaner. It does smell BAD.

Best wheel cleaner
I first bought Sonax Wheel cleaner from Auto Geek. On 3 of our vehicles I have polished 2 piece billet wheels. Our other vehicles the wheels are painted. I have bought every type of wheel cleaner from the local stores over the years and it's either etched my wheels or does a poor job cleaning them. I end up spending hours polishing out the etch and trying to get them clean. One set of wheels the 'local' cleaners discolored the black and left a 'run' look, that was an expensive clean. If you read the bottles it tells you to test in a hidden area, well that doesn't tell you everything. About 5 years ago I figured I would try Sonax Wheel cleaner from Auto Geek when I was getting supplies. I first tried it out on the painted wheels and was amazed. I even let it dry. It has never etched or discolored the polished wheels, painted wheels or harmed any of the Brembo and Baer Calipers. You can let it dry and go back and rinse it off with no harm. First thing I do is spray all 4 wheels. It is not zero free scrubbing, you still need to do a little scrubbing but it is effortless because it gets in the cracks and around the lug nuts. It cleans the rotors and calipers good. I even spray it on the exhaust tips and in the inner fender wells. It's also not harsh to breath like some wheel cleaners. It turns a purple red as it cleans. Everyone I have gave some to try has bought it. Twice a year I buy a 5 liter pail. I typically wash at least 3 of our cars once a week. Amazon does not always have the 5 liter and I want pay the price of the individual spray bottles because I use so much so I don't always buy it on Amazon. If I was desperate I would buy the single bottle though. I have probably tried 30 different types of wheels cleaners and I do not like any of them. I am sure there are other great wheel cleaners out there but I have not needed to look. If the price goes up I will, but until then, I will buy it again and again.

YOU KNOW ZE GERMANS MAKE GOOD PRODUCTS
Performs well. Expensive. Nice things cost money, however. Container comes with a nice funnel.

Simply the best stuff
This is basically a Decon remover. I have use this on a civic type R and Mercedes C 63S. Both cars produce massive amounts of brake dust especially the Mercedes. I literally do not even touch the wheels when using this product. I spray it on let it sit for about two minutes and hose it off or power wash it off. Don’t get me wrong it is pretty pricey but totally worth it especially if you have a busy schedule and don’t have time to be scrubbing your wheels. I’ve been buying the 169 ounce container for around $100 and again for me it’s worth it. Every time I clean my wheels I use approximately 56 ounces in a pump sprayer so for every bottle I get about three uses out of it. I probably use more than needed but that’s because I don’t want to scrub my wheels. There are other Decon remover‘s out there but I prefer this one

Straight poison, but works a treat!
This stuff has more warning labels than most industrial cleaners, but it works wonders. Keep it off your hands, eyes, face, and even your lawn; if you can follow directions you'll end up with clean wheels. This won't clean your mud truck wheels, this won't clean your caked on year-old brake dust, this won't fix your stupid curb rash. What this WILL do - with regular use - is give you clean wheels with no scrubbing needed. IF YOU USE THIS WITH EVERY WASH you will never have to scrub your wheels again. This isn't magic, but it does exactly what it's supposed to; remove a light-medium layer of brake dust. Wash your wheels by hand once. Make sure they're spotless. Wash your car at least once a month (twice for me) and apply this before your wash. Wait a couple minutes and use some high pressure water. BOOM your wheels are clean and spotless. If you don't wash your car often and are looking for something to auto-magically scrub years of brake dust from your tires this isn't it. Nothing short of ACID will do that, but this is the strongest brake dust cleaner I've found that does no damage to my car or motorcycle rims. That's why I bulk purchased the stuff. Have real expectations and you'll be happy.

Fantastic wheel cleaner.
I bought the 5L jug. I’ll let you guess how good it is. It’s expensive but worth it. I’ve tried others, nothing comes close.

My wife's car has real chrome wire wheels. Nice to look at, well made, but a complete pain in the ass to clean. I've tried just about every product available and with most you still have hours of intensive cleaning by hand to get the job done. This is the first product that I've found that cleans most of the stuff off. It's expensive but even so called detailer's products don't hold a candle to this stuff. There is still spots that need attention, but I can do her wheels in an hour rather than a day, and most of that is just waiting for the stuff to do the job. My advice is don't buy a car with real wire wheels, but if you do, use this stuff it will make your life a lot easier.
