This shredder works great! It shreds into tiny particles. It is easy to use. Removing shredded paper is not an issue. It worked from the start. And has safety features on it. It was affordable as compared to other shredders that shred small like this. This is an Amazon version of a micro cut shredder and they produced a nice piece. It is pretty quiet and I have zero complaints about it. Definitely worth the investment.

I ordered this and I was totally impressed by the construction , price and product quality. It is super silent and it explicitly states that you can shred credit cards. It is super easy to use and the price was good for 12 sheet shredding capacity.

Works great! I wouldn’t recommend for mass shredding it will over heat & shut off for 1 hour. For normal day in office shredding it works great! So far very durable & shreds to tiny pieces. Nice size canister I empty daily.

This shredder is fantastic for the price. The fact that it does micro shreds at this price point is a win. It also has a CD shredder function that is a big plus. I’ve had shredders in the past that require removal of the head to dump it, and it always results in a mess. This shredder fixes that with a pull-out waste compartment….that being said, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is due to the flimsiness of the door/drawer compartment. It is cheap plastic and sometimes requires a little finesse to snap it back into place and align it just right. Other than that, great purchase!

This is a great shredder for the price. I checked consumer reports, and there were only three rated higher than this one--two of them were almost $300. the third was $120. This was approximately $55, sent super fast, easy to put together, and is great for home use. Great value and product.

This is anything but basic. It shreds and shreds and shreds and asks for more. Assembly was as easy as wrestling the large and cumbersome box to the lower level of my house, popping in the wheels, finding the on/off switch which could have been better placed, and I was shredding. One warning - if you use shredder bags inside the bin to keep it clean be careful when you pull the bag out, as depending on the fullness it tends to catch on the interior tabs of the clear plastic window. It shredded 8+ medium to heavy sheets and credit cards with not problem. It worked continuously through a huge pile without overheating. While it is early days, I am pleased with my purchase. I am hopeful that it will continue to be a hardworking champ.

A must have for anyone! I purchased it because like most busy adults we collect the mail and let it pile up since all bills are paid online even though we go paperless 😂. But anyways I did research it and went with Amazon because of its MICROCUT instead of cross cut. And lemme say I was shocked that it ran for about an hour while I kept feeding it and did not whine or nothing and wasn’t loud at all, it’s easy to empty, power is incredible, never got stuck and will stop when it’s full. And if you want it to last long HIGHLY recommend buying paper shredder lube sheets, non messy and keeps everything running right for years to come. For its use I ran a lube sheet before shredding and then after just to ensure everything is Lubricated and ready to go then I’ll do it once a month. It provides great value. Here’s my final word/ opinion, Just buy it you won’t regret it and you may be surprised how much stuff you actually wanna shred lol

I did a lot of research on finding the perfect shredder for our home office. We had a version from Amazon that was great since 2020 and it was a work horse. It sadly perished and for the last week, I have read so many online reviews that my eyes hurt. I spent more time than needed but sometimes I go into the rabbit hole easily. So, we finally selected this and when it arrived I was super excited because I was backlogged with itema needing shredded. Out of the box, I knew something was up because my older, less expensive version just had 2 pieces and this had 3. Not a huge deal but it caught me off guard and it was much heavier than my original one. The plastic pieces that hold the base together felt flimsy but it locked into place without much effort. I began to shred and the pace at which it took the paper and shredded one page was so much slower than my old shredder. They are both 8 sheet however my older model is cross cut and this is micro. Perhaps that is why it was so much slower. I did another test where I race the shredder and insert one page at a time from a stack and with my old version, if I had to lick my finger to grasp the paper to seperate it from a stack, I lost. I would NEVER lose with this machine and actually had to stop because I was wasting my time sitting there waiting. It is going back. We wanted this because it was 8 sheets and had a cd shredder but I don't have the time to wait. Also, it stopped 3 times due to the overheating function and the waste basket, while technically a little bigger than my old model, stops if it gets close to being full. So I had to empty the wastebasket several times more than I would have with the old shredder. Add in the downtime for overheating and cool down and a 45 min project would have taken 3 hours if I continued. So, it is going back and I am getting the same one that I had before. It is an 8 sheet Amazon Basics 8 sheet cross-cut and credit card shredder which is on sale for 37.00 (Aug 2024). It is fast, reliable and doesn't need emptied every 100 sheets or less. This is a perfect example that proves just because something is more expensive, doesn't mean it is better quality. In this case, less costly turns out to be the best. Returning this item ASAP. BTW, i can cut my cds with scissors and don't need the cd shredder. It just isn't worth the headache for the slow pace of the micro cut paper shredder. Update: i forgot to mention that the top of the shredder must be assembled to the body and trash bin. BE CAREFUL.....the plastic pieces that join them are thin. Thankfully, mine snapped into place with little effort but it is something to ensure you are careful with. I am trying to disassemble mine to return and there are no instructions to do this and the AI chatbot with Amazon even says to do so could run the risk of breaking it, which then voids your warranty, etc. Since this cannot be taken to Whole Foods to return, you ship it back via UPS (Amazon provides the qr code/label). Since it arrives disassembled, it won't fit in the box when you return it. So, plan on buying bubble wrap to ensure it ships safely.

For the price this is a great shredder, you can leave it on for convenience for quick shredding or you can have it continually run for shredding that will take longer. Very light weight moves great on wheels, bin holds alot of paper

I've owned a few shredders from the bigger well-known brands, and after the last one died I was reluctant to spend the same sort of money on them as they rarely lasted very long. I read the details for this one and thought it was worth a shot as even if it only lasts a year its probably of similar value for money to the more expensive ones. I didn't really expect it to be up to much, but at least its relatively cheap. I was wrong. Despite being less than half the price of some I've owned in the past, it's quieter (MUCH quieter), easy to use, easy to empty and doesn't complain or overheat when it has to work hard (which to be fair it doesn't have to do too often, but then neither did the more expensive ones and most of them were miserable whiny little ****s if they had to do more than a sheet or two or shred for more than a minute or two). Occasional oiling is always a good idea for a shredder, and this one is treated in exactly the same way the others were, the difference being that this is still as quiet as the day I received it and just carries on doing its job. I dare say if I overworked it then it might be different, but it easily shreds 8-10 sheets with no fuss, noise overheating, day after day. If it ever breaks down, and it's showing no sign it will any time soon, I'll just buy another one. For me, there's nothing out there at anything less than 5 or 6 times the price that gets even close to this.
