Very Nice, Easy to Assemble
I already had a shop stool (for my garage) but wanted one with a back. Received this one and everything about it is nice. Excellent packing, high quality parts, easy to assemble, good price. Assembly is via 12 metric screws. A simple wrench and hex tool is provided but I used my own tools which made things a little easier. I used a "T-Handle" 5 mm hex wrench and 10 mm box end wrench or socket for the locking nut. A "#2" Phillips worked well for the Phillips head screws. I appreciated the locking nut rather than the usual flat washers and lock washer often provided. These can loosen over time. The seat back is adjustable "front to bacK" but not up and down. Usage will tell if this is a limitation or not. All in all, no complaints with this stool.

Sturdy and easy to assemble -- best written instructions seen to date.
Average/comfortable seat, backrest should be higher! I think they show two hole locations on the instructions but only one is actually on the tubes. Easy to fix with a drill bit, though it should already be there. First thing I noticed was the packaging was outstanding. Well boxed and secured inside with about a dozen zip ties to keep the parts from shaking loose. Individually boxed pieces for hardware and smaller components, and a nice touch, even the instructions were independently bagged in a little zip-loc. Instructions: Hands-down the best written set of instructions I've read in the past few years. Clear, excellent prose, not confusing in any way when referring to the various parts. Only discrepancy was calling the cylinder tip "orange" which it was not (made no difference because the color was not needed to orient the part correctly). These instructions were quite obviously written by literate English speakers, and I would hope the same attention to clarity was given to the other languages as well. Even if this thing falls into a million pieces next week, the instructions alone would be worth three stars! Not that it's difficult to assemble in any way...very easy, took about 8 minutes once I got things unboxed. Tools required are a 10mm socket and ratchet, a large-tip phillips screwdriver. They provide a hex wrench/phillips combo, but it's really only good as a hex key in my opinion. The nuts are all nylock, which is a very nice touch too. Seat is lightly padded. Just another 1/2 inch of some higher density foam would be much better. Seat back is equally average, but positioned too low with no option to raise it. It has spring buttons on the supports, so drilling another hole to snap into would give you adjustment room. So, overall, I'm satisfied and would purchase it again.

Back support is key.
Just received and assembled the shop stool. Seat has a good amount of cushioning, easy assembly, smooth hydraulic adjustments. Good height for my specific workbench. The back support is a welcome addition and one I greatly appreciate. Good product, highly recommended.

Everything about this stool surpasses expectations, except missing parts.
I bought this stool as a gift and decided I would pre-assemble it for the recipient. At this price, it clearly looked like the best bang for the buck. It is packaged very well to not allow shifting inside the package. Assembly is simple involving a total of 12 bolts, and includes (cheap) tools to assemble (I recommend using your own. 5mm Hex head, 10mm wrench, #2 phillips head screwdriver). Once together, the stool feels very sturdy. Nylock nuts are a nice touch to keep things tight. Stool swivels, raises and lowers very smoothly. Very nice upgrade from a standard metal barstool! My issue is that my stool only came with 3 of the 4 adjustable feet, so the stool now sits unevenly. These feet thread in, and came pre installed. I checked the packaging again and it is nowhere to be found. Hopefully the company will be able to send me a new one, to complete my order. If so, I will gladly change my order to a glowing 5-stars.

NICE!
I had read a review saying this is easy to put together. Mine was not. The legs and bracing s are made of tube steel much like kitchen chairs and tables from the 50's. Some of the pieces in this kit were bent making it very hard to get this together. At one point I had to use a clamp so I could get the screw through and attach a nut. I'm saying this is what you may get and this may NOT be easy to put together. Once together however you have a solid retro looking chair that should stand up to shop rigors.

Used it hated it, most uncomfortable cushion i have ever sat on, may as well just been sitting on concrete!
Ok who is leaving these 4 and 5 star reviews? How ofter do they use this chair. I bought this to use to sit on everyday for my lunch break at my tool box. It is one of the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever sat on. It goes together easily but thats about it. I was excited when i found a shop chair that goes this hight with a back rest. Its just barley a back rest, it only goes just up past your lower back and seems a little to flimsy to put some weight on leaning back. the base is pretty stable but the shaft part of the chair wobbles back and forth and everytime you sit down you sink, the piston isnt strong enough to keep you in that position and i only weight 180 lbs. There is also ZERO cushion and you can see in the pictures how there is a big divit in the chair only after sitting in it for 10 mins. I know its a goood price, trust me not worth it. had i had the chance to sit on this before i bought it, i wouldnt have even offered $10 for it at a garage sale. Stay away from this one! Hell there isnt even room for you to put ur feet up on the higher level.
