It works great if you can follow instructions!
Short Answer: It works if you follow the instructions. ——————————————————————— Research and Analysis: I watched multiple YouTube channel creators claiming this swing did nothing for them. One creator only tested it for 10 minutes with the app on (not off so that Adventure Sync can do its magic!), and not upside down like the instructions directed him to. This led the creator to make a claim that all swings/hatchers are not worth it and to rely only on the “sock method”. However, I decided to do some testing of my own in a controlled environment. Hypothesis: The JGP Mobile Swing will not significantly help in hatching eggs, earning steps to earn candy for your “buddy”, and contribute to the Jogger Medal in Pokemon GO. My Phone: iPhone 11, iOS version 13.4 Carrier: Cricket Wireless Pokémon GO Permissions: * Location: Always On * Motion and Fitness: All Categories Enabled Other Devices Attached to iPhone and what I did with them (my controlled variables): * Apple Watch Series 3 - I took it off and left it on its charger before turning on the swing to ensure my watch’s Health app and step counters would not potentially affect my iPhone’s motion tracking ability. * Poke Ball Plus - I made sure the device was not active (shouldn’t be if you closed the PokémonGO App completely and not just sitting in the background) as to not interfere with Adventure Sync. Case 1: * I turned off my Wi-Fi completely on my iPhone. * I turned off my Bluetooth completely on my iPhone. * All peripherals were not worn and left on their chargers. * iPhone 11 was left unplugged to power so as to not stop the swing momentum with the cable and prevent unnecessary cable stress. * I positioned my iPhone 11 in the upside-down position (camera towards the bottom of my desk). Other notes: *The USB is connected to my Razer Blackwidow Chroma Keyboard’s USB Port for power. *In order for the swing to swing properly, turn it to the ON position. Gently pull on the anchor located on the right side of the device and then let it go so it can gain momentum so it can swing from right to left on its own. You can leave it alone at this point and the power will continue to swing it until you turn the switch to the OFF position. My Nightly Results: After leaving my iPhone swinging overnight I earned anywhere from 17–50 km per night for about 6-12 hours. My Weekly Results: 254.8 km after letting the JGP swing my phone for 7-12 hours; usually, 8 hours after eating breakfast, doing my do, etc. Case 2: * I accidentally left the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on one night. It had no effect on the number of steps earned (thankfully?). * Similar results with 274.7 km because I overslept one night. * Wi-Fi and Bluetooth appear to not affect the kilometers walked for the motion fitness tracker. At least not significantly enough to warrant a null hypothesis. Case 3: * I left my Apple Watch on my wrist overnight on the 3rd week and once again, no added effects, positive or otherwise to the kilometers walked. * Results this week were 236.4 because I had to wake up early (a 5 hour night) for online school reasons and team cooperation at work. * Apple Watch, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth do not appear to affect Pokemon GO’s Adventure Sync Motion Tracker significantly. Conclusion: The JGP Mobile Swing helped me significantly in earning steps, hatching eggs, and earning candy for my “buddy” Pokémon. It exceeded my expectations. It has earned me more kilometers than my usual walking activity (maybe if I actually ran a little I would get more bang for my buck the “intended” way) and I still use it conjunction with my normal walking (moving around at work). Disclaimer: I could only get about 28 km on my own outside of the current COVID situation. My hours were cut so it went down to 5 km in case you were wondering if I was actually exercising (yeah... if you consider playing Call of Duty like a couch potato in my gaming chair... ). If I am able to measure a normal exercise routine on a treadmill or hiking during the day for certain kilometers I’ll update this and combine it with my JGP Mobile Walker at night results to see if there’s an even more significant increase using both ways to earn steps in Pokemon GO. Estimated Weekly Results for others (if left swinging overnight): I would roughly estimate anywhere from 140–350 km per week if you can leave it swinging at least 6-10 hours a week. **Results may vary for different phones/services.** Would you recommend this device? Yes, if you want an alternative to walking to hatch your eggs, earn steps via Pokemon GO app, or earning Pokemon candy while you sleep or don’t need to use your phone for extended periods of time (game, study, shower, go out with friends, etc.). Will this work for everyone? I cannot say yes or no as results may vary for people on different devices like Androids (different setups). I only know it works for my device currently. It will not work for people that want to play the game as “intended” or people who can't put their phones down for a few hours. Thank you all for reading this, I hope you appreciate my review.

Works perfectly!
I read a good number of reviews and I thought that I assumed how this shaker should work, like what I needed to do for the steps to count... I was wrong. The first day that I got this product I was trying to figure out why I was getting so little steps. I have a Samsung Galaxy A20 and I was starting to think maybe it just didn't work with my phone. I tried leaving my Fit App open like it showed in the advertisement pictures, upside down and right side up, phone screen on and phone screen off, but I got very little to no steps. I made sure battery saver was off, and of course adventure sync was on, but I never read anywhere that you actually had to keep the game on... So after trying everything that I thought would work, I launched Pokemon Go, locked the screen with the in game lock feature, put my phone in the shaker upside down and now its counting every step perfectly! This swing is 10/10! Hatching eggs is so easy now, along with getting buddy candies, just make sure you leave your game on if you're having trouble.

Works very well AFTER you spend some time fixing (not adjusting) it...
The product came broken. There is a 'counter-weight' arm that was broken in half. Some super glue fixed it. Once that was fixed, I had to bend the metal piece of the arm was positioned such that it no longer scraped against the sides. Otherwise the product slowed to a halt from the friction. Once I bent that into the proper shape, meaning it swings freely, and doesn't make any noise, (which took several attempts because there are several places that it can scrape against and some of them work but still make loud noises) it finally worked properly. However, this product says 'no magnets' but very clearly uses an electromagnet to maintain momentum (I took it apart as part of my troubleshooting). However, AFTER I fixed it it is working fantastically.

You Have to Find the Right Adjustments for Good Results (Works with Pokemon Go)
This is my second time purchasing this product. I bought this to hatch eggs in pokemon go and get progress towards walking activities in the game. The first shaker I bought recently broke due to me knocking it off my table. I was dissapointed that a relatively short drop dislodged something inside that made the shaker work but, I had it for roughly a year and had no issues with it beforehand. Finding the right adjustments of the arm so the shaking counts as walking in Pokemon Go took me some time to work out. I have to put my iPhone XR in backwards due to my case having a notch on the back that would not allow it to go in facing forward. Main downside of this product is that I've been unable to charge my phone while its shaking and that the cord it comes with is just shy of 3 feet long. Other than that, this works great and havent had any significant issues with it.

I like it
Tl;Dr: Yes, it's plastic. No, don't rough house it, it can break. Definitely better for heavier phones that no longer work with the front and back swings. Also I like the on/off button. There are reviews noting on the quality of the swing. It is plastic, arms did feel like they could snap if pulled too hard, however, after getting the arms out the first time, they were easy to adjust to fit my phone. And once adjusted to my phone, I don't have to adjust them again since I can now just slide my phone in and out. And adjusting the arm behind the holder for the swing length feels decent when putting it into position. When putting my phone on the swing, I had no problems using it with Po Go. The first swing I had bought when using my previous phone worked for my previous phone. But I have a Samsung S25 Ultra, which is much heavier, and the back and forth swing wasn't working anymore. The side-to-side is definitely better for heavier phone. And there's no metronome sound when it's in use. I'd recommend this to someone to buy. You can't win everything in regards to the points of the item, but it definitely works.

I've put on over 500 kms with this now. Works pretty well. I have an IPhone Xsmax. You have to give it a bit of a nudge to get it going but after that It goes great. If you have a good flexible cord you can even plug it in while it's swinging.

The piece inside the rotating hook already collapsed inside rendering the entire thing useless now and it doesn't work. It was kept together with some poor and cheap glue which will absolutely break, I promise you it will. I beg you, DO NOT BUY THIS, it will break within 2-3 months GUARANTEED. WASTE OF MONEY.

Using this for Pokemon Go. Works as described. Some minor issues: - USB cable is too short. - Power button is awkward to press. - Plastic isnt very sturdy - Difficult to fit a bigger phone Otherwise works as advertised and much better than the rubber band models.

Works great! Only thing I would like is if you could turn the light off of the device so you are not casting crazy shadows at nighttime in the dark with your phone swinging over the light again and again

Mine arrived broken but I was able to get a quick refund. It would have been awesome if it actually worked for me :(
