Horizons 2nd Grade Complete Set

I thought home schooling was going to be hard with my eight year old, but the teacher's guides walk me right through it. I really like that they are Christian based and follows my churches teachings.

I am new to homeschooling this year and opted for a boxed curriculum. Having used Horizons for Three's previously at work this was my first choice. I love how easy to follow the Teacher's Guides are and how the math is broken down in easy to understand sections. My kiddo loves how colorful the pages are - not all boring black and white text. I just wish I could find a set for my older kiddos!

Great curriculum!! We had never used a boxed curriculum until now but I'm so glad we chose this one. My 7 year old loves it, very colorful and keeps her attention. Definitely recommend! We'll be using this from now on. Teacher guides are very helpful for me as a new user.

After 6 years of homeschooling with 6 kids, we found out the curricula alone is NOT transferable for credits for high school if they wish to enroll later. They want more money to join the "accredited courses". We specifically asked this question when exploring curricula and wer told the curricula alone was fine - we were so upset that our junior had to enroll as a freshman and double/triple up on classes! They now say they would have never told us that and conveniently can't find our recorded calls..... I will NEVER recommend ANYTHING from Alpha Omega again (And on top of the THOUSANDS we have spent with them, we've also brought no less than a dozen families to them, as well)!

I love that this curriculum comes with teacher's guides for every single lesson. It cuts back on the amount of planning needed for the day. The math guide comes with a test to make sure your student is properly prepared for the lessons for 2nd grade. I discovered that the pubic school system did not have my child learning at his full potential. Hopefully, with these workbooks, he will be where he needs to be. I don't like that there is no history or science in the curriculum but I can easily create lesson plans for him or substitute the curriculum with other tools. It's so simple that I could hand the book to another teacher and they would be able to teach the lessons without confusion. The workbooks themselves have perforated lines to pull them out and I love that option.
