Why did you pick this product vs others?: I enjoy flying and building model rockets. Although plastic fins are now part of many rocket kits, I still enjoy builds with balsa fins. Having a good-looking (good flying) rocket means filling and sanding out the balsa grain before painting. The stuff I used for many years smelled bad and turned paint brushes into rocks afterwards, unless you used smelly paint thinner to clean them. This filler doesn't smell, works great, and the paint brush cleans with water and is good as new. That bottle will last me a long time too. Highly recommended.

I have been searching for a non toxic sanding sealer alternative to using wood filler. I have used watered down wood filler on my model rocket balsa fins previously but it is very messy and dusty when you sand it. This product has little odor and doesn’t bring up lots of dust when you sand it. Using a high quality natural bristle brush I was able to apply this in even coats. I then used 3M 400 grit sandpaper on a small sanding block with light pressure and it sanded easily. If you press down hard when sanding, it will build up fast and clog up your sandpaper. Also, this container will last a long time if you occasionally build rockets like me. This is my go-to sanding sealer for my balsa wood projects from now on!

Used to blend fillets on model rocket fins and worked well. Can thin with water if that is better consistency for your application. Also makes for easy water cleanup.

Works as needed for balsa fins and planking, sands good, just apply in very light coats to prevent warping.

This product allows you to seal the wooden Hulls, and or Model Aircraft and with very light sanding gives you a very smooth finish for painting.

This stuff can create a hard, smooth finish. But its a PITA to sand down! Using this with a rocketry class for filling balsa. This product does not lay out smoothly when brushed on. Which would normally be okay, except that the brush strokes take considerable work to flatten out. This dries hard, like white glue. If you bear down, it tends to roll up into little strings & balls, like sanding plastic (or white glue) even after drying a full day. Also tends to clog the sandpaper, which causes some scratching/gouging of the finish. Revision: I'm learning to work with this. I've added a star. With patience it can produce a very smooth finish.

I build wooden model railroad buildings and paint with acrylic (water-based) paints. This product prevents the water from warping the wood. The pics show the top of the coaling tower that this product protected. I would recommend this product very highly!

Delivered super quickly by vendor. Very good product wellknown and recommended by friends. If German DHL organization in the target location wouldn‘t have taken one full week to deliver the shipment, it would have been super perfect.

I'm building a 3metre rc glider that has Black Poplar veneered wings. Living in a small flat then odour and fumes from cellulose sanding sealer would have been a severe problem. 600grit sanding, 1st coat of Sand'n'Seal, sand back 600grit then 2nd coat of Sand'n'Seal left a perfectly even finish ready for enamel paint. Brings out the grain of the unpainted areas and no problems with fumes. Easy, and only 1/4 of 250ml bottle used so plenty left over for next build. Will always use this in future.

Did the job

this is not the first time I have used this sealer and it will not be the last either, its superb at sealing balsa as for hardwoods I can't see it being any different. I use a soft paintbrush to apply it and it dries quite quickly ( 30 mins ) and seals superbly even on end grain, when dry it looks like you have sprayed the wood with clear plastic and when painted you can't tell its wood at all, and best thing it does not smell at all so no moaning from the other half. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
