FD-61 Snackmaster Encore Food Dehydrator for Great Jerky and Snacks, 4 Trays, Gray

This is my second Nesco Dehydrator. My first one is really old, and it works great, as this one will, I am sure. We had such a huge crop of fruit that I had to invest into a second one. Thank you Nesco, the quality, you can count on NESCO. Its such a hard worker, great price, durability. I fill them probably to full, yet the air flow, its magic.

Very nice dehydrator. Works really well and it has a very good temperature range, which is easy to set. It has good air flow, which is super important. Also it's easy to clean. I bought the round one because I have another one and the trays are interchangeable. In my opinion never buy one without temperature settings.

I've only had this for a month. Didn't want to waste a bumper crop of grape tomatoes so thought I would dehydrate them. WOW! I am not one to pop a grape tomato in my mouth, but I could eat the dehydrated tomatoes right out of the jar. I have dehydrated 4 batches of tomatoes, chives, oregano and basil. All came out perfect, though it did take longer for the chives to dehydrate than expected. It does make that "hair dryer on low" sound, but I just stuck it in the guest room. It is also very large. Think of where you might store it before purchasing. I am looking forward to dehydrating some pineapple and apples with this soon.

The Nesco FD-61 food dehydrator does an outstanding job for my dehydration needs. I bought this after my previous dehydrator (Nesco FD-60) finally stopped working after more than 20 years of use. So far, it works just as well, if not better. The jerky and fruits that I have dried have come out fairly uniform in consistency and drying time has been spot on with the guidelines in the instruction and recipe manual. I hope it lasts as long as my previous dehydrator!

Great for making my dogs sweet potato chips. I wear them out in like 2 yrs but still go back to this one.

I bought this dehydrator because I wanted to dry my own fruit for granola and try my hand at some raw recipes. This dehydrator appealed to me because I wasn't sure how much I would use it and thus wanted to pay a moderate price for a quality dehydrator. This dehydrator fit the bill. So far I have not had any troubles with it running above or below the stated temperature. I also appreciate how quiet it runs as many of the recipes I make call for quite a long drying time. That said, now that I am using it more there are a couple of features I wish it had: -First, as others have said, I wish there was no hole in the middle. Overall this is not a big deal, but can be problematic when trying to make something like a crust for raw pizza. Instead I find myself making mini pizzas rather than one large pizza so I do not have a hole in the middle. -Second, I wish there was a timer function much as there is on my slow cooker. When I purchased this it didn't occur to me just how long some things would take to dry (7+ hours). Because of this I wish there was a way to set up a timer as sometimes I am less organized and put something in in the evening and find myself having to wake up in the middle of the night to check the temperature. With a timer this could easily be avoided. Overall though this has been a great purchase and I have been enjoying how easy and cost effective it is to dehydrate things.

This is our 2 model of this dehydrator. We wore out our 1st one after 8 years of use. During the summer we use the dehydrator all the time. It is very reliable.

Please be aware that this comes with a US plug and not UK plug. It is also not the right voltage for the UK so can't be used unless you buy a seperate adapter which are bulky. Dealing with the supplier to try and sort it out. They claimed that it was clear in the listing (they may have changed it since) but it certainly wasn't.

This product is amazing - I have been making apple chips since the day it arrived. Great seller - product survived shipping - no damage and arrived within the suggested arrival window. These machines are great fun and everyone loves the end result - and it’s healthy. So glad I got it!
