Dark Horse Deluxe Game of Thrones Ceramic Stein: Stark Sigil

Game of Thrones fans will probably be happy (and why would you buy this if you're not one or it's not a gift for one?). It's a decent mug (if a bit expensive, but you're paying more for what's on the mug than for the mug itself). The only drawback I've found is that the mug is not dishwasher or microwave safe, both of which are pretty important for a mug, so bear that in mind (it says this on the bottom of the mug, but I couldn't find this anywhere on the product page). Speaking of which, the product page also says that this has small parts and is a choking hazard for children under 3 years of age. I'm really unclear on how even a full-grown human being could manage to choke on this mug, considering that with the handle it's like 5" wide and about as tall (even the packaging is a solid piece of cardboard, which is pretty difficult to choke on).Summary: decent mug but not dishwasher or microwave safe.Edit (August 2016, original review September 2013)After using this mug for nearly 3 years and having put it through the microwave and dishwasher periodically I've decided to bump it up to 5 stars (from 3) since it's a great mug and has held up well.

Nice, clean stein for anyone who loves Game of Thrones. It actually says dishwasher safe at the bottom, but I haven't tested that theory yet. The design held up well enough in my hot water though. Not too heavy, holds a lot of liquid, and is very pretty. I was pleased with the order and the way it was shipped. The thing was so securely bubble-wrapped, I knew it hadn't been broken (which I was slightly worried about). It comes in the original product box, too, not just by itself which was nice. Worried it might've been a bit small opening it, but it actually is quite large. Bought it for my boyfriend since he loves GOT, and he was pleased. Highly recommended.

This Stein has changed my life completely, before this mug I was the quiet, shy, and sleepy guy in the office. After this stein I'm able to drink 22oz of coffee every morning, I now have all this energy to workout, make friends, and get everything done in a single day. With this really cool mug, now all the cool kids in the office want to talk to me, it's turned me into the Regina George of the office, everyone either wants to befriend me or be me. Highly recommend this mug, if you can handle the popularity.

Great product for the price. I was worried about the shipping since in some reviews I saw others came broken but it came reinforced with about 5" of bubble wrap. The sticker looks a little sketchy so eventhough it says dishwasher and microwave safe, we plan to just hand wash. Good size for a whiskey drink, could probably hold a couple beers as well. Husband was super excited to recieve the gift!

My husband is an avid GoT fan and beer drinker. I purchased this for him for Christmas, and needless to say it has been his most-loved gift to date. It holds one standard bottle of beer comfortably (as in, not to the brim.) It is not a big, beefy stein...I would call it more of an over sized mug, really. That being said, it's still ridiculously awesome for any GoT geek. As others have stated, it's hand-wash only, so if that's an issue for you then steer clear.

I love love love this mug! It has been a big hit among all of my game of thrones aficionado friends! It is very sturdy, I have used it plenty of times and it has held up well! I also have only hand washed it and had no issues. It is a very nice looking mug and only once you look very closely can you see that the direwolf is held on by some sort of adhesive that likely would not withstand a dishwasher.

I'm generally not one to complain about products but this one I could not let slide. The product came in the usual speed appropriated to Amazon Prime, but the product itself was below expectations: It's obvious that the sigil is a fired-on decal, which is OK, except that it appears to have been over-fired and bubbled and popped in some places. This has left it looking not nearly as fresh as the advertised product, and clearly decreasing its value.Others seemed to have gotten very good instances of this product, and that almost makes it worse. Clearly, QC (if such a department for the manufacturer exists) was unable to identify this example as inferior. I wish I could return it, but this was intended as a surprise last minute gift!

Better fill your mug! This stein holds a 22 oz beer. Meant to be held by slipping fingers through handle and around mug, the handle itself is kinda slim to be comfortable hefting a full mug to your face. Good for beer lovers, because it is ceramic it will block light from hitting your beer, avoiding the potential for skunky beer. Has been through dishwasher more than a few times, looks as good as day one. The North Remembers!
