Works great! Haven’t lost the cap again. I have a dog who will snap up and crunch anything they think is food if it hits the floor (RIP original cap), and just the silicone “leash” for this one is a bonus.

I bought this after I lost my Apple pencil’s original cap. This one stays on and I’ve had it for over twice as long as I had the original before it went missing. It does slide off from time to time but never gets lost - except for when it slips to the bottom of my backpack (but that’s not truly lost)

Apple doesn't sell replacement caps for their Apple pencil. Thankfully this fits and holds in place.

I lost the top to my apple pencil when it was charging one night. I have 2 kittens and they love to get into things, so they knocked it somewhere and I have yet to find it. In replacing that one, I wanted a cap that had a tether so it would stay on the pencil while it charged. My kittens still try to chew and play with this one but it is holding strong. The tether part that goes around the actual pencil could be tighter, because even before my kittens tried to play with it, it did slide off easily. Otherwise, I really like this cap and would buy again.

I scraped my Apple pencil cap and would often misplace it, so the silicone protective case was quite useful. The magnet in this replacement cap is also strong enough so that it does not fall off easily, although it is not quite as strong as the original Apple pencil cap.

so there's little to no magnetic mechanism on this but at least it works to cover the exposed part. i think it would actually be useless without the added plastic part that holds it on. just be more careful when moving the pen around.
