How long are the two screw-in center support rods? I need to use this kit to add 3" to a 2.5" projection rod and make it a 5.5" projection. Will the center supports work with that?

It should be about 4" to 5". I needed a 7" clearance because I have traversing rods, so I used both the small and large center support rods that come in the packet and duct taped them together. It holds up the rod pretty well.

Will this fit Graber rods?

Wrong rod, these are extensions for a curtain rod.

Do I only need one kit to extend the projection three inches?

Yes, one kit is packed with 6 one inch extenders, giving you the ability to extend 3 inches.

Are the extensions metel or plastic?
