Excellent. I’ve had many successful catches with these traps.

This is a brilliant product and the gloves are a bonus. So far we have trapped 7 rats of varying sizes in 1 week! All were dispatched very quickly and cleanly in each instance the trap had them just at the back of the ears. We know they died instantly as we have been using a wildlife camera to watch activity and therefore place the traps in the optimum position. They are light and the springs are very strong but due to the great design your hands are out of danger whilst setting the traps. They are easy to clean, we have used a variety of bait cheese, peanut butter and bird seed all of which have given good results. An excellent product and easy to use as well as safe for all except the rat! Would highly recommend this very reasonably priced kit! A very fast method in our opinion far more humane than poison.

I have bought several traps over the years. These work fine - use peanut butter or chocolate for best results. They are reasonable quality although one has broken and mice nibbled the plastic on another. They pack a punch and trap the rodent 9 out of 10 times. The gloves are a handy addition and package arrive quickly.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever reused a rat trap. If it catches something, it doesn't get cleaned. I'm not rich. I should reuse. But if that rat is in there, dead as a door knob, I still expect he's going to wake up really annoyed and have a go at me. So, that trap + rat is in the bin as quickly as possible. It's a sturdy thing, this trap. You really have to crank it down and do watch your fingers (do NOT hold one end while cranking the bar down and think you're safe. If the bar flips out of your fingers on the way down it will pull the other side up, going in the opposite directly and still crack your knuckles...hard. Not that I would know, of course. But I am able to type again, finally.). I would absolutely recommend this as it's deadly. It won't catch a mouse at all. I had them eat the peanut butter right out of it (in a green house, before they ate my cabbage... guess they like salad). For rats, though, they have been effective (again, if you want to clean them afterwards, go right ahead...all the power to you).

I really don't know why these only have a 4.2 rating they are brilliant! Hands down the best trap I have ever used (and having lived on a farm for over 20 years have tried many, many methods of vermin control). Firstly, compared to the last ones I had they looked somewhat flimsy, but by God they pack a punch. They go with such force, even with a 'big un' that they flip the trap over and move it a fair distance. The cup is brilliant too - no more trying to wedge a piece of chocolate under the spike, trying to get it at just the right height to keep the sensitivity. The setting mechanism is also the best I have ever used, moves freely no need for excessive force and no fear of trapped fingers. Last but not least - 6 traps for that price???? C'mon, these should have a 10* rating never mind a 5. One last thing to add, I rarely write reviews but these were really that good I just had to come and write one. Stop your search right here, you won't find better

Purchased these traps when we started to hear the tell tale sign of rodents in loft. They are very well built and easy to set without the risking your fingers. Using peanut butter we had success on the first night...however.... I chose these traps and they were the Amazon Choice for 'kills rats instantly'... they do not. When I went to check the traps the following day one of them had gone - after scrabbling around in the loft for a few minutes i tracked it down and found that the rat was very much alive and had managed to move the trap about 10ft from it's original position. This may have been a one off but unless you have the stomach to finish the job then these traps may not be the ones for you. I will be looking for a more humane solution in the future.

Done the job we thought it was a rat but it was a very large mouse. Very effective

BASICALLY USELESS These require too much downward pressure to work effectivey - the bait (peanut butter filling the bait holder!) gets taken without triggering mechanism. 2 of the spring-bar trigger catches also broke very quickly. Spend your money on poison instead - just make sure that pets can't get to it.
