Great for fighting fleas!
I bought Brewers Yeast after reading on Pinterest that is an excellent adjunct to regular flea medication for fighting fleas on dogs. I have to say that I'm quite pleased and surprised at how much my dog loves it. I mix it with her food and I also plan to make her some dog biscuits with the BY in the recipe. Supposedly, the brewers yeast yields a scent that fleas find offensive. After just two days she is scratching less. I am very protective of her and provide her medication regularly. However, I live in the country and there is just no way to get rid of fleas out here. Almost everybody in the country has dogs. My nearest neighbor has hunting dogs who are always outside and are flea ridden. Not an issue for him. I hate them. I'm happy that I have found a way to help my dog be as flea free as possible. Thanks Twinlab!

Not bitter, great value!
I purchased this brand after reading positive reviews about it not being as bitter as other brands. I use it in my oatmeal and in no-bake lactation cookies. In both instances, I do not even notice that it is there and I put a heaping tablespoon into my bowl of oatmeal so I was surprised that I didn't taste it. It may be that the other ingredients or fruit I add to the oatmeal mask the flavor, but that just tells me it's not super strong which is good. After looking at other brands and their reviews, I settled on this one because other reviewers claimed it was far less bitter and I believe it is a good price for the amount you receive. If you are thinking of trying a Brewers Yeast, I would highly recommend this one.

Just read it
I bought mine last July and did not review because I typically skip negative reviews. Apparently I got a bad batch because mine tasted awful. I enjoy the two other brands I have used and was surprised at how bad this was. I mix with instant oatmeal and flaxseed meal; I used this once and threw away my breakfast that morning (actually I gave it to my dog, who did not care for it either, and she loves people food). But I just read the label here on Amazon and I believe the chromium is now higher than the batch I purchased, suggesting they may have changed suppliers, which can only be a good thing. But I am not trying it again.

Ugh. Not what I thought it was
I used to buy twinlab brewers yeast for use on popcorn. It was yellow and a powder. It’s no longer available so far as I can find. I thought this might be it but this stuff is pretty disgusting. Brown and tastes like dirt. I found something similar to the old Twinlab stuff from another vendor, a flake form factor, that works. This jar went into the trash. And the plastic jar. Who does that in 2023?

Nothing to compare it to personally. BUT AWESOME FOR ITCHY DOGS!
I only know the people who suggested it to me, I respect very much. It tastes terrible in my opinion, but I assume it due to it's goodness. I was hoping it would help with my psoriasis, but I honestly couldn't keep up with it due to the taste. That's ok, because my dog goes through some very itchy skin episodes and within a week of putting this on his dog food his gnarly itching will stop. VERY thankful to that! Much easier than putting topical cream on him 2x's a day, trying to keep him from licking it off, and then it potentially not working and it usually doesn't. Not to mention: He LOVES it!!! He is not a drooling type of dog but when he sees me putting it on his food I'll see big streams of drool coming from his mouth and creating a little puddle of slobber. Lol! Yuck! But so glad he likes it. :)

Lactation cookie staple!
I needed this for a lactation cookie recipe. I have been making oatmeal lactation cookies since my son was born 2 months ago. The brewers yeast is a key ingredient. The recipe calls for 2-4 tablespoons of this but I use a little more than 4, you can't even taste it! it does seem to work well for my Purposes.I couldn't find any brewers yeast in my local supermarkets so I had to turn to Amazon. I will definitely purchase this brand again!Alone it has a very earthy taste. .. kind of weird. I have also mixed it in coffee flavored greek yogurt. It doesn't mix too well but I didn't mind it.
