Julius Caesar

My high school student had a literature class thaat included this as one of the topics. I browsed the book when we received it and it is a perfect companion book for someone that needs a little more in depth coverage for a class.

I became interested after seeing Me and Orson Welles which is about Welles great production of Julius Caesar in stage. Therefore wanted to see for myself if story works

It had been a few decades since I last read this play, and I wanted a refresher. Honestly, I don't know why we push Shakespeare on kids. It's so much more meaningful in your 30's, 40's, 50's etc when you can better understand how sharp Shakespeare really was. At 14 Julius Caesar was meaningless and tiring to me. At 44 it's brilliant and so very relevant to modern times. I think it would be fascinating if everyone was forced to go through high school english lit at age 40 or so. Anyway, for $3, this book did well as something I could read in the bath without concern for it getting wet.

The text of Julius Caesar is of course awesome. This version includes some helpful definitions and notes on difficult words and a short introduction to the play that is helpful for students. Unfortunately, Dover Thrift does not included line numbers. If it did, I would give the product 5 stars.

This book was very useful and had many great plots along in it.

Love this and the book is very well made. If you like the classics, this one is for you!

I read this play once or twice a year. My old copy finally gave way and I wanted to replace this. This copy was 3.99 and it is a nice quality cheap paperback. Ill be buying more dover thrift copies of shakespeare's play. I recommend.
