Perfect book to guide me in use of the pasta machine. I like that the recipes included tell you what pasta dough to use with the pasta dough instructions in the front. Would have loved more pictures but other than that it’s very informative and helpful.

I love Julia Stefano’s recipe book.I bought a Marcato Pasta maker before my Italian mother in law came to visit a couple of years ago. She uses it when she is here to everyone’s great delight, but when she leaves, the pasta maker stays untouched. That is about to change! I am not a very accomplished chef, but as I read Julia Stefano’s book, -with its beautiful illustrations and detailed instructions, I feel inspired to try out all these recipes. They look authentic and yet possible for me to do.-Ravioli, spaghetti, lasagna, classic egg pasta dough, spinach pasta dough… all sort sorts of pasta dough…and a variety of recipes for sauces…I cannot wait to get started! I have learned from my Italian mother in law that it can be deceptively hard to make the perfect dough, so I have avoided making fresh pasta…but this book shows me how to get it right through thorough step by step instructions.I recommend this book!

Though I would have appreciated recipes using weight measurements (grams) for accuracy rather than volume-type cup measurements, my main gain from the book was from the large number of very good recipes. I’ve been using a hand pasta machine for close to 30 years & thought that I knew everything about the machine, how to roll & clean, & to what thickness, etc., I nonetheless found useful tips. Same holds true for different variations on the actual dough recipes. My one complaint about recipe measurements aside, the Marcato cookbook will be a good addition to my collection of recipes & will clearly be a go-to reference.

I purchased this book to help me learn everything I needed to make homemade pasta. My machine is similar,but not this brand, but it was still very useful to my needs. It really helped me understand the how to make the different types of pasta and the best ingredients to use as it walked me through the steps to make the best pasta my family has ever tasted. I highly recommend giving this book a try.

I love homemade pasta and this guide offers a treasure trove of information on how to make your own pasta. The author gives you instructions on how to make thin noodles, thick noodles, flavored noodles, etc. Plus there are tons of recipes for spaghetti and other pasta dishes that made my mouth water while reading them. I'm definitely going to try out more than a few recipes.

I'm new to pasta making and got this book hoping to have a good step by step guide; if you are looking for that, this isn't it.This book says it is a "how to" book but this really doesn't show you how to do anything...it merely tells you and it tells you very briefly. The writer of this book seems to assume the user is familiar with what is being done. If we were, we wouldn't be reading the book. Take for example the chapter "How to use the cutting attachment"....most books would have photos that go along with a chapter like this, but there isn't a single photo, much less a sequence of them showing step by step what to do. In fact this whole book is lacking in photos (there isn't a single photo in the recipes.)There are some good tips and recipes in this book, but I honestly didn't find it helpful as far as a "how to book." The only reason I will give it 3 stars is that it has a few good recipes.

This is an excellent book for those who have a pasta maker, but are too afraid to use it. Instructions are given to help find the perfect thickness for common pasta types and there are a plethora of recipes to make your fresh pasta sing. This is a must for the beginner pasta maker.
