Love it, but pay attention to description
I love the book. My 1 y/o loves it too. Each page has an object and a noise like "Boots Scrape". That's it. I act it out or exaggerate the noise and my kid just loves it. It's simple and age-appropriate as a board book. As the adult, I enjoy it because I know the story and can see it through the progression. For my kid, they're getting object names, cause and effect, and noise names. The words are nice and big so they can see the letters clearly too. If you are wanting a story, this isn't it.

Baker Street for Babies
I gave this book five stars because I like Sherlock Holmes. I would have gave it less if I wasn't a fan.Like the other Baby Lit books, Sherlock Holmes takes a literary classic and condenses it into ten or so pages of baby learning themed content. This one is about sounds. It's fun to read out loud (especially when baby mimics you) but if you're looking more educational value, you might want to pick up another story in this series (there are some about numbers, colors, etc). Also, if you're not a fan of Holmes, you may want to pass. The references to the original story are cute, but I would not have enjoyed this book otherwise.

Great for BABIES
As an adult, this is not a fun book for me. However, my son absolutely adores it. It's a sounds primer, not a tale of Sherlock Holmes. But my son picks it up and laughs, smiles and coos as I read the words and make the sounds. Once I figured out that these have little to do with telling the story, and more to do with the primer they are labeled as, I was ok with them. So once again, not engaging for me as a reader, but for the small wobblers who need board books, this is a huge hit in our household! As someone else said, if you're looking for a story, check out the Mini Masters series. A Magical Day with Matisse is another of my son's favorites, and I like the stories and artwork!

A tad boring
Disclaimer: this is my personal preference because I love all things aquatic. This Sherlock Holmes book just is not as pretty or interesting (even to my 10 month old) as the Moby Dick BabyLit Primer. I really wanted to love this one as much, but the colors don't "pop" and the descriptive words seem a bit off with regards to the picture. It's still a unique picture book that we look at frequently, but just not a favorite like Moby Dick.

Such a fun, sweet little book.
I love these books. They only have a word or two on each page but the pictures are delightful. We have been practicing making noises with Sherlock Holmes. It’s really fun making the word “Rustle” sound like leaves rustling or the word “Howl” sound like dogs howling. Our son is 2 and this is our go to bedtime book.Honestly, these are amazing baby gifts. Do you have a friend who loves Jane Austen? Sherlock Holmes? Ballet? Pick up one of these books.

Daughter's favorite, and the art is awesome!
This book was a gift for my infant daughter, and it has been her favorite her whole life. She's two now, and she can read it herself. I started reading it to her when we got it by just making the noises as dramatically as possible and now she does it for herself. So so fun and cute. The artwork is amazing, and even though there's not a lot of content per say, it's enough content for a person who's going to hop off your lap every 20 seconds to run off for something else. They're really beautiful books. We have 5 or six of them and love them all.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this book
The illustrations are really nice but there's literally just one word per page. So I guess you're supposed to make the sound each time you turn the page? Doesn't seem worth $10 to me. I think it's just cool to look at but honestly this is really pointless. It also has nothing to do with Sherlock Holmes so I think they're just marketing this towards adults who want to have a cool looking book in their house.
