Wow - That was easier than I expected
So, I want to add a WiFi hotspot to my boat, and I wanted it to work anywhere. So I got a Gl.Inet travel router and the ZTE dongle for a data account I set up on T-Mobile. Thus far, this has greatly exceeded my expectations.I received my sim card, put in in the ZTE dongle, and plugged it into my Windows 10 PC to setup. It was trivially easy - it auto installed a link to open the setup UI. It picked up all the network settings automatically (including APN) from the network too. The only thing I had to do was set the card to Automatically detect what network to use because it automatically connected to 3G by default. After I did that, it connected right up to the LTE network and I was averaging around 30megabits up & down from my house (which is notorious for spotty coverage). Next, I plugged it into my Gl.Inet GL-AR750S travel router and configured it using the USB tethering setting and is working perfectly.

Works great in Thailand with AIS sim card.
There are much less expensive options, but this one was 4 stars and from a brand I recognized. It has worked flawlessly on AIS network in Thailand. Maybe takes 30 seconds or so after my laptop is booted up to have internet access. I'm just using it directly for the computer, not using it for a wifi hotspot.Getting about 20-40Mbps downloads, plenty for Zoom calls and such.I wish it did 5G, perhaps had a flexible connection to avoid damaging the USB port if it gets knocked. Minor quibbles. It does what I was hoping it would do.

Works with Android car stereo
This DOES work with android, but you need to do a few things first.1. Download DC-unlocker and Putty.2. Go to network adapter settings in windows and disable your ethernet adapter and/or disconnect from WiFi.3. Insert a working sim card and plug it into a windows PC.4. Install stick software through file explorer. Open 192.168.0.1 in your browser to see if you're connected.5. Run DC-unlocker as administrator. In manufacturer, select zte modems. In model, select zte mf833v6. Click the search icon and when the modem is detected, you will lose internet.7. Enable your ethernet connection or log onto your wireless network. The computer will install usb drivers for the dongle.8. Do steps 1, then 5-6 again.9. This time DC-unlocker will find the dongle and give you too com ports. Remember the application port number.10. Open putty, click on serial and enter the com port number. It should open a windows. Type 'AT' then press enter. You should get a response of 'OK'.11. Type 'AT+ZCDRUN=8', then press enter. You should get a response of 1.12. Plug the stick into your android stereo and enable mobile data. This should make this dongle work for android.

Recieved defective unit
I had high hopes for this item after reading so many other positive reviews! Unfortunately I seemed to have received a defective unit.. It powered on but when it came time to configure it there was a defect with the software UI - a button that was needed to turn off the unit was missing, due to that I was unable to complete setup. For good measure I attempted setup on both a Windows and a Linux machine, tried various browsers on both - the same issue was present on both computers. Seems like this is a S/W or firmware defect?? And hopefully its just a one off. As you can see from the photos, in the pdf manual there is a photo of the UI with a green ON/OFF button, but a photo of my unit's configuration screen shows no button. I requested a replacement and will update this review based on how the new item functions. Hopefully it will work, as I wasted ~3hrs of my time the first time around thinking that I was doing something wrong :(

works stationary
Works great if you're not moving, but has issues swapping towers when on the go.

Works great!
I don't have internet service where I'm located so I use a 4G LTE modem for TV streaming but the ping time was too slow for video conferencing. My phone worked for the video conferencing, but I had issues with sound volume and the screen was just too small. I needed a way to use my laptop to video with her. This worked great on my laptop! I inserted the sim card from an ATT phone, plugged the dongle into my laptop and it set itself up. At first, it connected to 4G but no internet connection. I had to change the APN from Cingular to the ATT APN of NEXTGENPHONE and it worked perfectly. I now have much better ping times and faster speeds than my MOFI router. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend this 4G dongle. It covers more mobile bands than any other units I have seen. Thanks DroneNet!

Doesn't work for T-Mo in midwest
Works terrible for me on T-Mobile in Oklahoma City. Modem lights up green, and I'm supposedly getting HSPA+, NOT LTE. I cannot even load an entire web page such as Reddit without it giving up. I have tried 3 different Windows 10 PC's and 2 separate T-Mo SIM cards, both cards are on an unlimited plan and work perfectly if you put them in a phone.

Great versatile LTE Dongle
Bought that for a fail over setup on my Openwrt router. Tested on AT&T pre-paid, T-mobile pre-paid, Mint mobile and Boost Mobile pre-paid. For Boost I needed to manually adjust APN settings, but all smooth. I am getting similar speeds compared to the same sim cards inserted on my galaxy S9. In my area, it works best with AT&T (approx 90 mbps down, 20 mbps up). Tested also on Win10. Same results no problem. Really recommend.
