I'll break it down song by song
Warning- This is a very fitting opening song. The track warning really shows how different the cd is. After the chorus in this song you can hear a siren going off. There's a first for everything. 3/5Blood Sex and Booze- The best song on the cd. If you like Hitchin' a Ride(Nimrod), you will love this song. A very nice beat. 5/5Church on Sunday- This is the most popish song on the cd, but still with a green day/punkrock touch. Its a pretty good song, but not my favorite on the cd. 4/5Fashion Victim- A good song. It has a swing type feel to it. A very catchy rhythm. The lyrics make a lot of sense. "He's a victim of his own time, in his vintage suit and tie" "What's in a name?". 5/5Castaway- A very good song, good beat. 5/5Misery- Similar to Last Ride In from the album Nirmod, in that they try to do a song from a different culture. Last Ride in doing a Hawaiin song. Misery, an italian type song. This is the most different song on the cd by far. This song made me miss the Dookie days the most. Green Day trys too hard to do something different here. Not a very good song. 2/5Deadbeat Holiday- This song sounds like it could have been off of Nimrod. When you hear this song you will probably agree. Good song. 4/5Hold On- An intro with a harmonica, a swingish beat, Todo, I don't think we're in Dookie anymore. If you like change, you will like this song, as well as every other song on this cd. I happen to think this song is just ok 3.5/5Jackass- These lyrics are not like most of the lyrics off of this album. Most of the lyrics are very optimistic and positive, in this song Billie Joe sings about that person who is annoying and how they are a waste of time to listen to. Good song. 5/5Waiting- The most optimistic lyrics on the cd. This is one of my favorite songs on the cd. 5/5Minority- If you have heard one song from Warning, this is the one. The opening sounds like a drunk Irish guy playing the acoustic gutiar. After the intro it breaks out into the most punkish song on the cd. Very good song. 5/5Macy's Day Parade- A weaker version of Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). I would have liked to of seen a better closing song on the cd, but still it isn't a bad song, it just isn't a great song. 3.5/5If your willing to let go of the Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac days, you will love this cd. For those of you who are too die hard punk fans, and don't like anything a little differnt I don't recommend this cd for you. I loved it.

Green Day are awesome!!
The CD arrived on time and in great condition! Warning has always personally been my favorite Green Day album, and it is nice to see Amazon treat it with care as well. I also made sure to get the bonus track “86 (live in Prague)” since you can’t access it digitally for some reason. It’s somewhat funny that this album was released on my birth date, which goes to show how long Green Day have been putting out great rock hits. Here’s hoping they keep up the good work and again thanks Amazon for delivering the CD in great condition!

Bloody Brilliant
Bloody brilliant album.I read some of the, (very old), one star reviews complaining that it is not punk. Green Day never was punk. Punk lived once – it started in England in the 1970s. It was about 2 fingers up to society and about just playing even if you didn’t have a lot of musical talent. Any band that tries to copy punk 20 years later is a cover band – not punk. So, back to the subject. Warning – it is a creative, high energy, melodic and fun album. It is not punk and it doesn’t need to pretend to be. If you have any kind of feel for good music then just buy it.

Differant isn't always bad
Why is everyone saying Green Day wasn't recognized until Dookie?. I loved them because of Kerplunk and i still do, I'm surprised i haven't worn out the Kerplunk tape i listened to it so much and its still so great. Just because MTV didn't become obessed with them until Dookie means nothing. Also everyone has been saying the new album isn't punk and i was mad at first but i think they are right. It doesn't matter, i still like it but not the way i like Kerplunk. I don't see why they have to be punk to be good, it seems like some people are saying that just because it has a differant name it sucks. Anyways Green Day is still punk if these people were to talk to them they would know. They have a good life now, they are married and have kids and they don't need to sing about girls and school and drugs anymore. I really like the message behind warning. I think that its their best in that respect; its honest. If you are a Green Day fan I bet you will still like this, it's differant but it still is Green Day and it still is GREAT. If you aren't a fan yet and liked some of the songs, especially from Nimrod you will love this album. It is great to just sit back and listen to it. Oh, their LP for this album is cool too, its GREEN! Check that out too.

Took A Risk, But Paid Off
Although many criticize the album, I really liked it. Yes, it is a very different style from many older albums, but they took a risk and still had some good songs come out of it like Warning, Blood Sex Booze, and Macys Day Parade. Granted, I really like the old Green Day as well as this time period of Green Day so obviously I am biased, but I liked it.In short, if you are an occasional Green Day fan I would not get this, but if you really love them, this is for you and you can't go wrong buying it.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Edit: After months of listening to this album, I have liked it more and more. One of the few albums I can listen to front to back with out any problems. Potentially One of my favorite green day albums with Dookie; very underrated IMO.Great music, Great Album, thanks so much for the awesome music!

The Minority
I really wanted to give this 4 stars (it is not really worthy of 5, objectively) but decided finally, after many listens, that it is probably worth 3 and a half. Ish. Having first heard Warning on its release in 2000 it is an album that I know well but also have spent little time revisiting, which is usually (subjectively) evidence in my mind that it's not the best. But there is not too much in the way of actual bad songs. It's just that there are a lot of ok and good tracks and few classic or excellent ones. I also give them extra marks for daring to play with their musical style. While in the past they could be catagorised as pop-punk or punk or punk-metal (etc, etc), Warning is a mellower side of Green Day. It reminds the listener of protest songs and the overall tone is one of folk rather than punk or metal. It's a marker on the road to the opinion-dividing American Idiot. The title track is very good. It's got a central groove that permeates the entire track, as does a lot of the tracks on the album, and works well as a hard rock anthem of sorts. 'Blood, Sex and Booze' is more akin to the tone of Nimrod. It takes a few spins to appreciate but it is a catchy little number. It's just not that great. 'Church on Sunday' is better. It's got a bit of a Happy Days vibe to it, it rocks and is rather a catchy tune. 'Fashion Victim' takes a while to get as well but that's because it is so simple. There's a simple, strummed riff that doesn't really stop and Billie Joe sings over it. It's good because of its easy nature. 'Castaway' is a great rocker that is probably the funnest, catchiest track on the album. 'Misery' is the brave one. It comes across as a Yiddish show-tune and an almost-hoe-down. It's not bad but it's also not Green Day or as good as most of the material here.'Deadbeat Holiday' is a middling number that is not bad but also is not awful. A grower that doesn't really grow. 'Hold On' is a bit worse and can really be described as average. Again, not bad as such, just not very interesting. 'Jackass' I'm afraid is much the same only far more rockier and Green Dayier. Then comes the classic 'Waiting'. Commercial and polished and poppy but by far one of the best tracks on the album. 'Minority' is an almost classic and is a proper replica of a protest song. It's quite rousing. 'Macy's Day Parade' is a sombre number to finish. It's good. Not great. There are a few tracks, like 'Fashion Victim' and 'Castaway' that will make it onto a playlist or 2 now where they didn't back in 2000, and there are 3 real excellent tracks, namely the singles, but it's no worl-beating award winner. That came in their next musical shuffle. With mixed results also...

Sorely underrated album from Billie Joe, Mike and Tre.
Green Day are one of the most proficient acts of the pop punk crowd as they seem to skirt the line between the two fusions very well and make music that can still be enjoyed by punk music lovers. The only other band I can think of to do that is My Chemical Romance. After garnering huge success in the 90s with albums like Dookie and Nimrod, the trio emerged with Warning which possessed a stylistic change from their pop punk leanings. The album draws heavily from Bob Dylan with its use of acoustic instrumentation whilst still retaining their punk roots (folk punk basically). In my opinion, this album, whilst not their best, is a really underrated record that showed them maturing and pulling off a different sound very well and one of their finest in my opinion. From the pleasant acoustic guitars of the opening title track to the loud punk of '86', this album flows very well. Even before American Idiot, this band were producing some solid records and this is surely one of those records. These guys, along with My Chem, were my childhood.

Excellent
Just as good as I remember. Our copy went missing so I have invested in another copy. How I have enjoyed listening to Deadbeat Holiday, Macy's Day Parade, Minority, Deadbeat Holiday, Warning and all the other excellent tracks. It takes me right back to Milton Keynes, June 2004, an amazing day and a brilliant gig.

Warning - this may become your favourite GD album
19 years have been kind to this album. Initially criticised for its introspective and less loud tunes it shows a different side to Green Day. I think time has proven this to be a gem.

I'm a Jackass
This is one of my favourite Green Day albums. I purchased this as my original copy was lost somewhere in the vortex of time(or more likely I lent it to someone and never had it back).
