Required Reading for iOS Application Developers!
This book is a MUST read for anyone who is serious about iOS programming and application development! Table views are really the quintessential application paradigm for navigating, parsing and data organization for almost any serious project which is heavy on information delivery, and Tim Duckett does a beautiful, spot-on job in explaining the lot of it. Table views and cells are tricky in their implementation, and not at all intuitive even for seasoned object-oriented programmers. Read this book cover to cover, and do all the sample coding yourself -- and you will come out an iOS superhero! Well worth the investment, and actually a very fun read as well.

A Geeks deep dive
If you're past the beginners point in iOS development this is a great next book. UITableView is probably the most abused and used component in the SDK.Pro iOS Table Views will give you the skills and understanding to be able to twist tables to your will like an evil genius. You'll walk away with a solid dose of why to go with the how.

Concise, clear and precise.
An excellent resource for iOS developers. It is the opposite to many books I've read in that it focuses on a single topic and by doing that does a terrific job. The author takes time to explain concepts and techniques, and also has succinct examples that illustrate the techniques. In the end, you will not only master tables, but learn a great deal about iOS internals.

Very specialized IOS book
If Tables Views and Core Data is your current fixation, then look no further. Just be warned that this is a pre-ARC book, but isn't heavy on mem management.EDIT: I have the Kosmaczewski and D'Andrea edition with the same ISBN... Weird...

Excellent Book. Buy it and Dive Right In.
I'm stopping reading this book about two-thirds the way in to give this author the accolades he deserves. I hope my review helps him with regards to sales... because he deserves it. And, you deserve to know about this book if you're interested in learning to program these devices. I wish all technical books were written with this clarity. The book is comprehensive yet easy enough for a child to grasp. Without babbling on, if you are serious about learning to program the iPhone/iPad, do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK! If you want to connect Core Data to Your Tables...
This book is extremely coherent. Until I started reading Duckett's book, I have been doing my best to connect Core Data to my tables, but it hasn't been easy to figure out where the data goes, where the interactions go, etc. Finally, I have CLEAR, ENJOYABLE explanations of all of the table issues with RELEVANT, perfectly-timed code examples that consistently work.

Essential Reading for iOS developers
If you're going to write Apps you really need to understand table views. Tim Duckett's book deconstructs table views making it easy to understand how the cells are put together and how the delegate methods feed your tables with data and keeps scrolling smooth no matter how much data there is to scroll through!Once you've taken this on board Tim goes into using custom cells and gestures. I also found the section on searching really valuable; I added a SearchDisplayController to a table view which caused the App to crash! This book showed me how to wire up the SearchDisplayController correctly, fixing the problem.A great book that has enhanced my iOS programming in all areas.
