BRAND NEW PROJECTION LAMP WITH BRAND NEW HOUSING FOR SONY PROJECTORS -

Generic bulb did not work with Sony VPL-HS20 projector
I've had a Sony VPL-HS20 projector for a number of years, and replaced the bulb several times in the past. Previously, I'd ordered replacement LMP-H180 lamps directly from Sony, but because Sony no longer makes this part, I had to chance third party sellers. In this case, the part number and form factor were correct, but upon installing the new bulb and turning the projector on, the lamp never ignited. After 30-60 seconds, the error lights began flashing in a way that were consistent with a bulb that was past its life expectancy and needed to be replaced.I suspect that the bulb was either already used for a portion of its lifespan, or that the generic bulb used in the larger lamp housing simply had the wrong voltage characteristics. In short, don't buy this.

Better than nothing
When I was on my previous lamp the colors were muted (one of the signs of age other than the projector complaining about lamp age), but when I switched to this one they were... wrong. I've addressed it a bit by doing a custom color profile, and programs with actors now look reasonable, but CG and animations look a bit off, mostly that greens look bluish (and fixing that makes humans look greenish). Colors also seem to change slightly over the first hour of use, suggesting a very long warm up time might be part of my dissatisfaction. But it does fit the slot, and so it has extended the life of my HS-10 a bit longer, hopefully there will be a compelling projector on the market before I have to get another OEM bulb for this one.

Very Dissatisfied!
Ordered lamp for VPL-HS20 in July '11 after going 3 years on previous bulb. Unfortunately, the bulb just went out today December 29th, what appears to be after the 5 month warranty. Interesting how that works. The lamp worked great until that time and the family enjoyed many HD and Blu Ray movies. However, we are very disappointed that it has only lasted just over the 150 day/5 month warranty and we only put approximately less than 500 hours on the lamp. These lamps are supposed to last at least 2000-3000 hours!! Called Electrified and Amazon to see what they could do. Will see what happens and will be happy to retract rating if taken care of promptly and to our satisfaction.

Does not work properly in my projector
I bought this replacement lamp when my old one was going dim, but the projector doesn't seem to like this one. It says "please replace lamp" even though the lamp is new. I have replaced the lamp several times in my Sony VPL-HS20 projector and had no issues, but I have always used Sony lamps. I am assuming this one is incompatible in some way with the factory lamps.

bad
Bought it, installed it, burt out in 3 hours of use. Waste of money. Never touched the bulb, used gloves. That was an expensive 3 hours of movies.

They didn't work.
I ordered two bulbs and neither one worked. What a pain to return them and remount my projector multiple times. Ugh.

Needed a new projector bulb fast
Our Sony Projector's bulb blew on a night I was anxious to watch my favorite show. So I logged in to Amazon immediately & found the Electrified LMP-H180 Replacement Lamp with Housing for Sony Projectors pretty quickly, compared a few prices & ratings. Placed my order late that night & had it delivered less than 48 hours later to our home. It was exactly as described & has been working wonderfully ever since!! We got great bulb life out of the original bulb (almost 2 yrs) and I'm hopeful we'll get the same from this one!!

Dead on Arrival
The lamp arrived broken, the lens was not connected to the module. It looks like the lamp was refurbished and low quality adhesive was use to affix the lens, which did not hold. I would have given the product 1 star but I'm less unsatisfied thanks to Amazon's easy and fairly generous return policy.
